What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Collected a ‘very obnoxious’ bike with my ‘very obnoxious’ van . First time I’ve used my old towball carrier (Velocompact 2 aka Thule 925)on the van too, as expected from the forums there’s not a hope of opening the tailgate with it in place, even tilted. Not a huge issue to pop it on and off though.

@PM26. I'm not familiar with that bike carrier but if I was you, I would have a good look at it to see if it can be modified to tilt further thus allowing more room for the tailgate to open. I know some on here have done it by moving a cable on a Thule rack and in my case, I cut a part off some plastic bugs which were designed to limit how far my Thule Easyfold XT2 would would go. Just a suggestion......

Cheers Ayjay - I do recall seeing mention of similar in a thread. I’ll have a nosey at mine and see if it’s possible. Even with more tilt on this one though, I’d be surprised if I’d get away with it on this model though as it’s a long way off being clear! So far it’s not been an annoyance thankfully, as anything in the boot can be grabbed over the seats. I suspect it’d get tiresome in a camper scenario though.

Popped the new Retroracks roof bars on ready for this weekends trip, roofbox still to go on.

First time using them and Undecided on position at the minute but they are really well made and a bit different to the norm as a bonus. May end up moving them forward when the box is on.

That’s what I did to start with. Then adjusted and spaced evenly when I got the roof box out.

@Evgeni can the LED's be swapped out for different colour LED's? I have found other forums where they have swapped out the SMD LED's for a different colour which works, is this the case for our instrument clusters?

YouTube clip here
Anyone any thoughts on my post, got the new LED’s but want to be sure I won’t cause any issues if I swap the old ones for the new ones?

@Texxaco - I have wanted to do this to my van for a while, but can't find anyone local to do it. Got quoted £160 by Dashworx but didn't fancy the long journey to Bristol and back.
I'll be watching your progress.

Hey @BoroBoy i have watched countless YouTube clips with the one I put a link to the closest to our instrument cluster.

I have the LED’s ready to go, having read the thread I replied to I am wondering why @Evgeni did it the way he did rather than swapping out the LED.

Anyone help with this question??

Fed up with having the mobile sliding around the top of the dash whilst charging, I found a compact mag safe charger.

That’s a neat installation

Loving your work

@huw169 - can you remember what the clips were you used to secure the cable?

A point in the right direction would be appreciated!! :)
