What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

After the disappointment of the Stitches and Steel screen cover, I took the plunge and bought the UK Custom Covers cheap one. Arrived today, ordered lunchtime Saturday. Fit is much better, even with our pop top and window deflectors. Has saved me from waiting 6 weeks and £250 for one with eyes.

@Saffa365 This time I made sure it was T6 compatible and not just a repackaged T5.1 cover.

edit. Previous link was to blue version. Now link for black.
I opted for the transporter hq internal screens , everytime this summer it has been raining and windy so the internal one suits us better
Just found and flapping noise wakes up the little one

Looking good mate, what tools did you use? I have the glass, I am too scared to do it...
If you can get a nibbler then use that. There’s no sparks flying and no hot metal. It’s like a fast hole punch that leaves a smooth edge that you don’t even need to file down.
I got a nibbler attachment for my drill then adapted it slightly with an angle grinder so that it had a flat spot to sit on the inner lip of the window cutout.
You can drill one hole in the corner then just go straight round the inner frame shape in one smooth go.
You still need a jigsaw or recip with fine metal blade to take out the centre support bars.

After getting mythered by mozzies & flies on our last trip, I decided to take the plunge & fit one of these. They are manufactured by Horrex, but re-badged as Reimo. In theory it should have been a couple of hours job, and sure enough, after 2 days I’ve finally finished it.

I've replaced the heater resistor in my van as the fan didn't work on 1, 2, or 3 only 4! I learnt it was a common problem and could be fixed in 10 minutes for just a few quid. A quick watch of YouTube and I was confident I could sort the problem. Change out of £4 on ebay and I had the replacement resistor delivered. If I'd unplugged the connector before removing the screws the job would have been quite easy, but I didn't so it took me longer than the guy on YouTube. Done now. The fan still doesn't work on 2 but does on 1,3 and 4 so I'm happy for the money.
I also my replaced the tatty rear bumper protector with a gloss black one from vanstyle's ebay site - £30ish delivered instead of £35 plus delivery from their shop. Not a bad day I reckon.

In preparation for sound proofing the scuttle area I’ve taken off the wipers, plastic and wiper motor. For those that have done this; I notice there is a vent on the passenger side which I will leave uncovered but on the drivers side there is a plastic cover, do you cover this with silent coat?

@DXX - on another post/thread you mentioned covering a vent on the drivers side when doing the scuttle- is this vent the one in my picture above ? Ta

Having used an external blackout which has been great until it rains and becomes wet, i decided today to make some internal blackout blinds out of some old curtain and spare press studs from the fly screen project. Will test it a week Tuesday.

can say that it is a success and no faff messing with a wet exterior blackout or suckers on an interior. Total project cost about £2 for fabric tape and cotton.

The picture in the link below is for a LHD/RH side door. Mine is for a LH side door.

Had to create an account and login for them to pull my pants down! £415!!! Wozers looks good but I’ll make do with £22 one from Amazon hacked to size!

Also bought this bug bite thing earlier hopefully it helps for when I do get bitten!
