That does look great in Black Loz

As im still waiting for mine, can i ask a favour?

In regards to the offset vertical bars in the middle, if i replaced them with straight bar, would it clear the wiper?

A straight edge, such as a spirt level should do the trick

Im looking at doing a conversion on it, to be more like the Terraranger Setup, as Fiamma have informed me that the Ultra boxes won't work on the Pro

Following my unmitigated failure to keep out the midges with some home made mesh barriers I’ve got myself a couple of these neat screens that pop into place. Wee bit fiddly but fine once you get the hang of them. Got them from Jerba Campervans in East Lothian.

Have you got a link to the site and price?

www.jerbacampervans.co.uk
Go to the contact page and there’s a drop down menu with enquiries - one of which is side window midge screens - price is £49 per screen. Not the cheapest but having tried (and failed) with midge netting and magnets I’m happy with them. They asked me to send them a photo of my windows prior to purchase to ensure they’d fit. 2 days from ordering to receiving.

Decided to give Betty a wash and wax prior to setting off on a long weekend in Dawlish tomorrow. Mother Nature had other ideas and decided that she only needed waxing on 3 sides!

On the plus side, the water beads really well.

Finally got round to using the Absolute Boast Hard Wax I won about 2 years ago. Great product - really easy to apply and remove.

Yep. Sometimes up to 6 times a day. Just switches off, VW emblem comes up and it reboots. Also had the rear view camera not come on, or not go off a few times. Then it goes a couple weeks clear. I’ve an idea/theory that it may (this is clutching straws) be incompatibility with I-phone. I’ve re-booted the phone on occasions, but not logged whether it makes any difference.

hmmmm interesting re. the phone...
we're having the same problem with the wife's Polo. pretty much does at it like, no rhyme or reason as to when it works.
actually thought it was a loose wire tie I saw your post.

Never mind. Was going to ask you how you got them as couldn't see them on the website. Have now read your next post.
:)

Not today... but yesterday... we took our first ever VW transporter home. He is even better than I imagined.

Update to my own post, dB has dropped marginally to 65-66 average, not much on the sound meter but my human ears hear less 'hum' and less wind noise. With Diall, boards and carpeting I'm sure it will be a pleasant place to travel in the end.
For every 3db of attenuation you are halving the sound. If your spl meter can give a spectrum reading you may see what frequencies are peaking. By adding small pieces of mass (bitumen) you can drastically reduce further.

Strictly speaking +3dB is doubling the power (sound intensity) a change of +10dB will double the perceived loudness. So for the noise to sound half as loud the dB level would need to drop 10dB.

Skyliner33, I agree with you. Damn my aging memory. I was confusing power which has a ratio doubling/halving factor equivalent to +\- 3db.
Using voltage it becomes 6db and then 10db if we use loudness or the listeners sound perception as it’s a psycho-acoustic measure. However, this is subjective and not scientific. It’s a fascinating subject wouldn’t you agree? Especially when you start looking at reflected energy and phase summation or cancellation.
