What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Today I managed to smash and break my front splitter off going through a flooded area (usually is in heavy rain) which turned out to be deeper than anticipated. Slowly through heard a crunch assumed I ran over something next few corners heard ominous noises then stopped inspecting it 3/4 of splitter hanging under van on 1 rivet and the rest sticking out on 1 rivet. Not something I needed at 0515hrs first day back on shift. Gutted.
Funny that, I done mine the other week when the road near me was flooded, yeah mine was held on by 4 screws....

Fitted uprated gas struts after fitting the bike rack the other day and finding the originals can't cope. Held it up with a length of wood and removed one side when the wood snapped and dropped the tailgate onto my wrist  luckily seems no major damage just bruising and cursing!! Learnt my lesson and replaced with a thicker piece of wood!!

Yeah thats what i had...i looked on their website, a new 1 is ridiculous priced..£350 for 1 painted in gloss black...the vans do look odd without them though
Agreed the only LV splitter I can see is plastic not fiber glass?. Maybe they changed materials. Maybe some folk know of another version same design?

Today I got my ACC fixed at the main dealers. Only taken me 5 months to get there lol.
Reset by diagnostic as had ‘glitched’????

Fitting the uprated struts is my weekend task. I'll be supplementing a piece of wood with my partner as well! Hope your wrists ok.

Ever since we got the van in 2019, I've used the cam straps to pull down the pop top because the handles fixed to the under side are too high to reach when it's open (at least without standing on the seats). When we were away last week, I got to thinking that there must be an easier way to do it so this morning I looped a couple of lengths of rope through the handles and it's so much easier - not as much effort required to pull the roof down and the ropes can be reached whilst still sitting. They can also be pushed out of the way on to the bed board when the roof is up and are completely out of sight when the roof hatch is closed.. Can't believe it's taken me nearly 5 years to think of it.
