What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

No mods needed? Just bolt it on? Seems too good to be true lol

Six 13mm bolts which are supplied. I ‘Dremel-ed’ out one hole to make it slightly wider, and coppaslipped the bolts for future removal, but a 10 min job.

Did you bother buying the insulation? I didn’t. Didn’t think it’d made much difference..

Got her weighed

That’s a SWB T28 with an early HiLo sport, a Cali 2-seater on rails, Propex, MDF kitchenette including Smev 9722 and BI41 top-loading fridge, and 18 Sportline alloy wheels.
The water tanks are empty and the fuel tank around ¾ full. 0 passengers.

Awesome. Effortless driving just as I wanted. Not for speed as such but for easy cruise up hills, overtaking etc where you use torque rather than revs.

So far very pleased

Sounds great. Where do you feel the power kicking in?

I only ask because I've had two remaps on two different T5s. The first was a Pendle which delivered everything as promised. I was very pleased. Much more responsive, more low down power and once used to it markedly better economy. The second was through the same company but they had changed their remapping affiliation to RH Tuning. I was totally disappointed. The power came in at 2.5k revs, which was about 1k or so high of where the difference started with Pendle, it was faster but only if you floored it which meant economy was down!

I have a DSG and you feel the difference as soon as you depress the throttle. You need less throttle over all and whatever speed when you push harder on the throttle you get a wave of torque pushing you and if you floor it you will drop a gear or two and whizz off.

I feel like I am now tickling the throttle especially as I have Coasting enabled and have already noticed I am using less fuel, too early to tell how much though.

The main reason I opted for the remap was due to me carrying a lot of heavy stuff and people on quite a regular basis and the standard tune did struggle at times up hills and was a tad sluggish when joining fast roads, and forget overtaking when loaded.

Time will tell but so far very impressed. I have had several vehicles professionally remapped and there has always been an improvement in performance, economy and 'drivability', as before I researched carefully before choosing the remap company for the make and model concerned and I think a good remap is superior to a standard 'do everything' factory map. So - so far Revo has delivered as expected but the testing continues. By next Monday I will have covered over 400 ish miles on all sorts of roads, farm tracks, motorways and in London - all of that will prove whether the remap by Revo is as good as they promise.

Cheers

I changed the drls (H4) to led last weekend with some bulbs I had kicking about. Looked much better. However they’re effecting the DAB reception so they’re coming back out.....

Had the first service carried out at Breeze Southampton and had a nice little video from the technician once home showing him inspecting the underneath and checking the tyre depth etc, very impressed with the service and customer service.
