What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Could you explain further? What difference have they made?

For the cost of the rubber and fitting time of less than 5mins per side, this has to be the cheapest / most affective mod you can do.
The van doors shut with a thud rather than a clunk. I think the thing that people say is : “sounds like a Golf” couldn’t be more true.
Try it - you won’t be disappointed

Had a new windscreen fitted. Bloody great stone wacked me over the weekend and cracked the screen right across the driver's view area.

Not so much ...what have you done to your van today as what have you done with the spare captain's seat that was taking up room in the garage today.....
I put it in my bedroom and the wife kindly put a throw on it.
Comfy as a reading chair:thumbsup:MVIMG_20191018_115954.jpg

We have also technically done nothing to our van but we are going to visit him today!! 10 days into the conversion. Fingers crossed there has been some changes.
:inlove:

sample of worktop obtained (caramel bamboo) and we have been to look at flooring.
Looks like it’s taking shape
I assume you’re fitting Evo furniture?
I’ve fitted the Evo bamboo worktops and table and am in the process of fitting a matching floor covering.
It’s a bugga to match but came up with a close finish in Amtico signature range American oak.

I popped in to Travelin-Lite and bought a set of gloss grilles. They do the bottom-most grille in gloss too now, but I didn’t bother with it as it’s covered over by the splitter.

Fitted those and the Van-X Sportline style splitter.

Don’t tell her about her ‘fancy grass’ getting squished

We were originally getting Evo units but the converters doing that fell through (they now sell camper king conversions). Our new converter (a one man show with great reviews and credentials) makes all his own furniture.... so we are getting a solid bamboo worktop which looks stunning.

Thanks for letting me know there is a matching floor out there. We will check it out.
:)

Solid or ply?

Do you mean us?? It's a solid worktop. looks amazing but not crazily heavy in relation to normal worktop (i know that sounds daft) so hopefully won't add too much weight to the van.
:)

If you didn't mean us.... then congratulations, you now have some useless information.
;)

Yes @Stewby i was referring to your post. Bamboo is an amazing wood source but small in profile. The solid wood is in fact made up of small sections that are layered together to make up the required profile. Crudely I called ply.

Ah, in that case, yes it is ply. Sorry, ply to me is that wood we used in school to make clocks and egg holders.

Will try and get a picture for you.

Rightio.... This is just the sample that we have. First picture is the end profile. Second picture is us matching it to the flooring that we found. Third picture is the top of the worktop.
Think it will need varnished to keep it protected. It seems quite soft and easily marked.

Fitted the Van-X glovebox (I didn’t bother with an internal light)

Oh, and got rid of the dealer windscreen stickers. How on earth do the inside of windscreens get so dirty?!

Review of it ?
Good. A lot better than what it replaced.
The hinge could do with having the ability to remain open - it drops a little and stays open, but the slightest bit of force will close it.
The glove box seems sturdy enough. I haven’t driven the van yet but don’t expect any rattles.
I bought the matte to match the rest of the plastics; Initially I thought I’d messed up because it doesn’t match the finish of the stereo surround, but then saw that it does match the instrument surround. It looks better in the flesh than it does in that photo.
