Finally got round (now weather is warmer) to fitting my ARB Baserack full length roof rack that I bought last November! Completely disregarded the instructions as I did it on my own, didn’t use a chain lift and I can’t bench press my house. If anyone is interested I can post a ‘guide’ but it’s only really applicable to this rack. Anyhow, no mishaps, no marks to roof and super pleased. Zero wind noise and very very sturdy. I can now get my ‘safari style’ awning bolted on next week.

so I helped him to replace infamous coolant bypass valve.
03N 906 249 G -> O3N 906 249 K
These faults were caused by the failure of internal sealing and effectively coolant ingress into electrical section.
Fingers crossed for the revised version to last for good.

Finished the sound deadening on the drivers door today, new clips for the door card and extras dodo on the door panel followed by sound absorber foam.
Door card was very tight getting back on and left a very slight gap on the edges, but nothing too bad at all, vast improvements in everything about the door, feels and sounds less like a van!

The oil looks to originate from the intercooler hose .
It had a new turbo fitted about 10 weeks ago along with new cooler pipe seals and one of these has been mangled during fitting .
Took cooler out and drained it , rebuilt using new seal and will give it a go .
Paired a new heater remote to the van with VCDS.
Behold the power to turn on the heater from up to 1km away, or in the mornings when it's frosty, or when I'm sleeping in the van and can't be bothered to get out of bed to warm up the van!
Cost me about £68 vs the £200+ that a dealer would have wanted to charge me.

Factory option eberspacher parking/air heater. The previous owner lost the remote so it's been on my to do list to find another.

Nope, this came with a remote from new so I just needed to track down the correct replacement and then code it to the van.
