What Have You Made Today?

An update on the shower button presser.

I had to replace the nuts and bolts that came with the suction cups, as one of the original nuts came loose in the shower and was lost.

I have replaced them with M4 stainless machine screws and locking nuts.

You could hang biltong from those hooks too.
I’ve had a couple of goes at Biltong & still not got it right. I think I need to cure it longer. Mind you, getting hold of Kudu ain’t easy around these parts….

Quite. Roe deer is probably your best alternative - you just need to 'arrange' a road-kill incident.

Love the look of your bacon BTW.

The bacon is excellent even though I say so meself. Absolutely no snot in the pan when cooking and so easy to make. I'll never buy bacon again. I use this.

That's marvellous! How is it fixed in position?
Thanks! There is a large overlap at the back and that section has some velcro strips on it. It's the threaded behind the struts for the roof.

Seems pretty secure but we've got some decent winds tonight so we'll see how it works! I just looked at a few YouTube videos for inspiration.

Running round the field in your pants at midnight chasing a shiny frizbee ;)

Great idea though. Is there much rustling from the wind at all?

Not at the moment. Not noticeable over standard canvas noise. It's a skyline so its slightly thicker material than some.

At the moment the awning in the wind is louder.

That's fantastic. I have an unused roll of that stuff so you can guess what I'm going to be making!

We made similar, but it fits inside the poptop.
We wanted it outside to try and prevent rain hitting the pop top where possible. Seems to have worked quite well last night. A bit of noise in the wind but not too bad at all.

Cutting a piece for the windscreen meant no condensation on the inside and it's just held down with the wipers and the existing blackout cover.

Would recommend both of these for those not looking to fork out a lot of money and not going to extreme climates just to add a bit of protection.

Some examples of similar things. I'm sure the proper ones are much better but this is cheap and seems to do something!
I've confirmed I have 2 rolls of the stuff unused from the old house. I'll grab some quality gaffer tape this week then you can guess what I'll be up to.
