What TV are you watching??

Reacher (good, but not in the same league as Bosch imho).

The Curse of Skinwalker Ranch (series 1 and 2). Found this quite intriguing…Anyone else seen this?

Its taken a while to catch up by we finally got to watch the last two episodes of The Queens Gambit last night. Absolutely fantastic and before seeing it, I would never have believed that a TV drama based on chess could be even remotely interesting - on how wrong that is!

We also watched the last episode of The Curse. Its a comedy about a gang of cockney geezers (aka morons) who nick a load of gold bars by accident. It had its moments in a Lock Stocky / Snatchy kind of way and is worth a view but that's probably only because 25 minutes per episode was just about right.

Really struggling to find stuff but currently...
Season 2 "Resident Alien", second half of season 4 "Star Trek Discovery", "The Chelsea Detective" and from a while back "Tales From the Loop"... so apart from the Chelsea Detective mainly science fiction but really enjoyed Reacher so will try "Bosch" for instant karma resolution TV.
Slightly OT as it's on All 4 but really like "Ice Cold Murders", made by RAI and a variation on their"Inspector Montalbano" series with the lead just as chill as him but this time set in mountain country, has helped immensely with learning Italian swear words!

Reacher- hmmm not sure yet
This is going to hurt- excellent
The Promise- very french
Wolf in me- love it

Watching
Peaky Blinders
Counterpart S1
The Gilded Age
Discovery
Blacklist

next:
Pickard S2
Resident Alien S2

Winter of fire on Netflix.
Makes you really wonder how the human race has reached this far.

Resident Alien season 2 now on hiatus until late summer, on the plus side two sets of 8 episodes so 16 in total but nearly as annoying as that other American trend the "cold open" where you get the opening credits 10 minutes into the programme.
On another plus note, currently sat watching the Victoria's Secret advertising TV in the departure lounge at Luton airport, edible eating britches who'd have thought there was such a thing, going to get some prawn cocktail flavour ones as they've run out of salt and vinegar.

@Stay Frosty. Love Resident Alien but I thought that the 8th episode was actually the end of the season and we would therefore be waiting until 23 for the next one.

Apparently this summer for the next 8 episodes, there is a trailer and this time we'll find out who the "other" aliens are!

Aretha on bbc 4 , good lord what a voice she had
Very good call - I can spend hours watching Youtube videos of her. I've just never got the whole Adele thing and whenever I hear anybody going on about her, my first reaction is always 'well she ain't no Aretha Franklin'.

Finished Reacher last night - brilliant and can't wait for the next season. Alan Ritchson fills the Jack Reacher boots perfectly unlike Tom Cruise who IMHO was alright in the movies but would struggle to see over the top of one of said boots if he stood inside it. Did anyone else notice the Lee Child cameo at the end?

Also watched the first episode of Halo last night - I'm not a gamer and know nothing about the back story but a lot of action and brilliant SFX are giving me enough reason to continue watching (but I'm not too convinced that will last though!)

We will be watching the final couple of episode of The Ipcress File tonight - an excellent take on the spy genre and Joe Cole makes a great stand in for Michael Caine.

Staying with the spy theme, Slow Horses kicks off on Apple TV (I think) later this week - I'm a huge fan of the writer (Mick Herron) and if the series is anything like as good as the books, it might turn out to be my personal TV event of the year.
