What TV are you watching??

Shetland
High Potential
Matlock
Shrinking season 2
The Irrational season 2
Whitstable Pearl season 3
As we've got stuck in a bit of a cozy crime loop we've been watching Nordic Murders set in Usedom (ex East German bogland, looks like the Fens) and Ice Cold Murders set in the Italian Alps, much better scenery and both series on Walter Presents on Channel 4 on demand.
Waiting for more Will Trent, Jack Reacher and The Night Agent :geek:

Just finished Penguin
Now watching “Say Nothing”, about the troubles in Northern Ireland, Hazel Doupe is amazing!

Yellowstone & Shetland do fancy giving this new paramount series Landman a go. Anyone seen it ?
Will be watching the first episode today while I do the ironing. Reviews are reasonable if not outstanding, as Taylor Shriden penned series/fillums tend to be.

Now that's what I call a rock'n'roll lifestyle!
It's all go being retired.

I can confirm it's pretty good. Typical Sheridan fare - sweeping landscape shots, character rather than plot driven, and quite murdery from the off. Billy BobThornton and Michael Pena are typically excellent.

It's a lot gritter then Dallas, and a lot more murdery.

Edit - Finished episode 2 today. Its pretty good. They're still setting up the characters and plot but it's showing promise. Episode 3 on Sunday, I think.

The Inside Man on Netflix, written by Michael Schur and has Ted Danson and another cast member from "The Good Place" plus Rosa Diaz:inlove: from Brooklyn Nine Nine so looking good for a cross between these series and Only Murders in The Building, bite size half hour episodes.
I watched Billy Bob Thornton on Steven Colbert during the week and while he's an odd sort of arty farty, Captain Jack Sparrow individual, in the scene they showed from The Land Man his character managed to convey proper menace towards the actual land owner explaining what he's signed on for and just to keep smiling and taking the payments or else.

Aye, Sheridan has a knack of writing perfect roles for actors. I never rated Costner but he was brilliant as John Dutton, and old Billy Bob Thornton looks as if he too fits the role like a glove.

Michael Pena only had a brief part before he exploded and died unpleasantly, but was again perfect for a well written role. It looks like the plot is starting to develop now and I'm looking forward to seeing it progress.

Joe Pickett.

Only 2 episodes in, but it's really good. Shame they only did two series but series 3 fell foul of the writers strike and it all died a death.

I have been in Reykjavík for Iceland Noir and saw a screening there of the first episode of The Darkness — hasn't got a UK air date yet but definitely keep an eye out for it. Filmed there but all in English.

Have recently watched Ludwig and Silo S1.

Yes definitely! As the above post too Severence, Slow Horses, The Big Door Prize (good but has been canned so depends on if you want a resolution), Ted Lasso S1, Bad Money and Black Bird are all on there and fab

I've just finished (re) watching the first season of Severance, god damn it's good.

And if you've ever worked in one of those massive, corporate companies with a 'drink the kool-aid' culture (as I'm sure many have!), some of the stuff will be very familiar!

"If you hit your refining quota this quarter, you too might just be rewarded with a company eraser, finger trap, or even a melon bar for your whole team!"

Silo first, then that!

Just watched 'Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl' - IMHO a work of complete and utter genius and I don't think either of us stopped smiling once throughout the entire thing. Just give them the best film Oscar now.

I have to agree @Ayjay ! I watched it on my own Christmas evening while wifey worked, then watched it again on the iPlayer on boxing day when the Mrs had recovered from her nightshitf. So many new jokes appeared second time around. In iPlayer style it segued into 'The wrong trousers' written over 30 years before, the quality difference is huge over that 30 years! Fabulous watch.
Docta Roo is another staple for our lot over Christmas, with this years being marginally better than last years showing, but again too woke even for our awoken daughter. W&G worth the licence fee on their own...
