When Is A Mod Not A Mod?

imo, not if its available as a factory option.
Thank you.
I think I'll mention it just incase. I need to speak to them anyway as I'm changing it to my private plate and it was done professionally by Martin Travelvolts.
I'll report back after the weekend.

My other car is an Audi A4 Avant, local dealer had a really good offer on the fitting of the genuine Audi dash cam last summer, so I decided to go ahead and get it fitted. Phone my insurance company thinking I might get a slightly reduced premium, how wrong was I. Basically the computer said NO and I was told I would have to find alternative insurance as they were no longer able to cover me because the modification was permanent, was basically given 24 hours to re arrange the insurance, even tried to charge me a cancellation fee (that didn't happen........) Even pointing out that it was potentially to their advantage and that it was a genuine audi part, fitted by an audi garage made no difference. I wouldn't risk not declaring anything that has been added or changed now, least excuse and they will wriggle out of paying up.

And they charge you an 'admin fee' for any policy alterations..

At least Dick Turpin wore a mask..
