Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

Road trip down to Ringwood to get the leak on my Propex system fixed. Hopefully it is all resolved now (fingers crossed).
111 miles each way, and a rather healthy fuel economy too.

Returning home from a family function in North Wales I decided on the scenic route.
Driving over the Denbigh Moors I stopped at the infamous Sportsmans Arms. This was a very popular place when I was a young adult and I have many happy memories spent here with friends. Unfortunately it was closed when I arrived so did not get a chance to call in and see if it was still the same.

Continued on through Bala on my journey home. The North Wales countryside is (in my opinion) the most beautiful part of the Uk and today was a fabulous day to enjoy it.:)

Yep, black LWB PV, gold coloured wheels. I regularly go between Toolstation and Screwfix just up the road.... Saw you by Civic Centre too last week !
Poole to New Milton is my regular stomping ground for work. Fortunately, I usually take the overcliff thro' Bournemouth, and however a sh*te day I've had ( which is many rather than the few), always brightens the day.
I'll look out for you next time and we'll share the wave.

Didn't strictly go all the way in the van last night but this is Alladale Wilderness Reserve in Sutherland. Last 10 miles were in the borrowed reserve defender. In a previous life I helped establish an outdoor education programme for local school kids who spend a week on the reserve camping, learning about the re wilding of the reserve, doing some practical conservation work and other outdoor activities so popped up to see them last night. Fantastic place and the land owner may not be everyone's cup of tea but I for one hope he achieves his desire to bring back wolves to Scotland. It would be a fantastic sight to see a pack of wolves on these ridgelines.

Less than a week to go now until my daughter and I explore Scotland again for a week in the camper.

As we passed Mont Blanc last year, we said we need to go to Chamonix. Off we went. Ferry to Zeebrugge. Traveled to Aire de Bresse services for some Bresse chicken (very tasty). Stopped the night in the hotel there.
Up next day to go to Chamonix, but was told about Talloires, beautiful small town near Annecy on a lake (gets you off the payage also).
Then on to Chamonix, great place & up in the mountains.
A few nights there then back up to Èpernay (champagne central), visited Moët cellars , tried (too many) other small champagne houses samples on the street.
Back up to Zeebrugge, was told about a place called Knokke-Heist, 5 min drive from the ferry terminal. Lovely place with loads of posh shops (don’t tell your wife). Great place to spend an hour or two if you are early for the ferry.
Great time & van did it effortlessly, 45mpg. Even with the wife driving it at 75 on cruise View attachment 43881 View attachment 43881 View attachment 43881 View attachment 43881
