Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

Jesus man, sounds horrendous. I don't use angle grinders much, I'm too scared, got a doorway to do once the extension is finished, think I'll find someone else to do it.

I would highly recommend that course of action.

A mate almost sliced his toes off with one a few months ago. He'd just taken off his safety boots as they were rubbing.
Evil things those angle grinders.

Glad to here your ok dave and still have your ear! dont be doing things like that mate it dangerous enough out there. I have use grinders many times, never did like it, they do bite bad. Make sure you get some good care from the nurses ;)

Made it home all taped up. Got to go to the plastics clinic at the JR in Oxford first thing in the morning where they will peel it all back and then look at what they are going to do to try and fit it all back in place and stitch me back together.

@DaveyB - good luck at the JR, let's hope the miracle team are on duty to perform your face lift. :) Sadly, not even a helmet would withstand a diamond-tipped grinder wheel and you certainly didn't want any of that debris complicating matters. Hope all goes well and I wish you a speedy recovery.:thumbsup::)

Thanks very much, it sure hurt like hell when they started scrubbing all of the brick dust/debris out of it!

Blimey. That'll take some recovery.
Just helped rescue a half tonne pregnant cow from the bottom of a 70ft cliff.
Slightly unusual...

The van has been a landscape truck (carrying my strimmer) and transport to the local woods for a hike so far this weekend.

But that's why we do these sorts of jobs - everyday is unusual which is what makes them interesting.
Very interesting indeed. The Fire Service did the bulk of it; amazing seeing them at work.

But their kit is sodding heavy to haul 500m up a steep hill! Lungs and heart got a proper workout.

Shit the bed, that all sounds grim. Hope it heals quickly and the experts can patch you up nicely

Because the water fairies are usually asleep or playing football/volleyball!
ooh, now that is harsh. Water fairies is so inaccurate when we do 5 RTC's for every fire. Besides thanks to good old elf & safety the crews are not permitted to play ball sports at work anymore, so they all just pose in front of the mirror in the gym instead :D

Fire are well known as the Water Faries or Trumpton! My old man was a copper for 30 years so it just kind of stuck.
Not sure if the costies or lifeboat have any nicknames as a whole just know the individuals ones

Our local fire station went through so manny staff injuries that all happened at the local leisure center, think it started with volleyball. That got banned and then went to Football then basketball I think.
