Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

Love Holmfirth, where they filmed Last of the Summer Wine, must come back soon now we have a Campervan !!
You must. There’s a nice site about 50 metres from my van in that pic called Rising Sun camp site. Stunning views and a nice walk into Holmfirth for beer and food.
We stayed there when some friends visited over summer even though we only live 2 miles away.IMG_6737.jpeg

Haven't tried Rising Sun yet, but Holme Valley campsite is good too.

Yeah we've stayed there too. its a bit closed-in there, but great shower block. Rising Sun is.....errr....rustic.
We went home for a shower.
Same friends are staying at Holme Valley for New Year.

Wifey has the pleasure of an NHS nightshift Christmas night 7pm until 8am Boxing day morning at the new hospital in a salubrious area of Birmingum known as Smethwick.
She needs a few hours sleep beforehand to get through the night. Naturally we have the family at ours for Christmas Dinner. Her mother (nanny Chaos) is really quite deaf, the TV will be too loud for the Mrs to be able to sleep!
Wifey has been sentenced to the van on the drive, all chocked up, she'll actually be quite happy with the diesel heater keeping temps around 24 degrees, toasty! Mattress topper and real duvet installed! I think I've got the raw deal looking after the family!
Apologies for not getting a chance to wash the van after a trip to my mother in Worcester.
Up the NHS!!

@JumpShip. I'm jealous - please keep us updated as the trip progresses.
Am I the only one who's wondering what that is in the bottom LH corner of the picture?
Merry Christmas one and all.

Formby for a Boxing Day walk. Apparently they are closing the Victoria Road car park for a year??

Anyway, quite a bit of fog on way and back. Put my rear fog light on. Wasn't completely necessary all the way, but was in places.

The amount of vehicles driving with just DRLs. And older vehicles with no lights at all! Complete f***wits!

Also, saw my first garage with electric prices in lights alongside petrol and diesel. I suppose it's a sign of things to come?

Merry Christmas everyone

Great week tabbing the western side of Dartmoor out of Tavistock C&CC Site. Quiet with good, clean facilities and close enough for a wander into town for a pint…

Someone is mighty handy with a camera! Great pics

Who is away in their van for Christmas then?
We are! Boys were super busy serving in Salisbury Cathedral over Christmas! Couldn’t be arsed to be an Uber driver so we dragged our caravan over for a few days. We shall enjoy a late Xmas dinner but we played Santa in the van!

(Humble bragging alert: what can beat walking back onto the campsite and hear our 10-year old comment say “We have a cool van!”)
