Lovely 5 mile walk from Leasowe to New Brighton and back

Hovercraft from Rhyl used to come in somewhere near the war time dragons teeth anti landing blocks not very far to there. I imagine they have been taken away just like the hovercraft. I remember one day the Hovercraft bursting into flames from one of the engines. The police warned people to get behind the Dragons Teeth but many fled along with my young brother. Eventually we found him attached to a very tall policeman near to Morton Station!

Stop at reculver tower before heading to Canterbury C&CC site. Fog on the Motorway cleared just before we arrived at the coast but bitterly cold wind. Nice on the site (a bit of road noise but close to city centre so to be expected). Set up and ready for walk to todays pub
