Which Trailer?

Yeah, not 80mph like you see people dragging those little wheelbarrows that are stacked outside Halfords down the Auto routes. More often than not just before suffering a blow out as the tiny little tyres have got a bit too hot.

I use a Brenderup with the hard top. Now just need to fit the bars. Cost 400 second hand.

I have had a Brenderup for over 15 years now.....wow, it takes the most abuse and still looks tip top! I’ve always fancied a hardtop for it though and could never justify the spend! (That’s quite a fancy top in your pic though.)

The “wheelbarrows” stacked at the entrance to Halfords are a rip-off! Rge Brenderup I have is rated for 640kg load and regularly takes 850kg of gravel/sand! They have so many accessories too so options are wide open!

Erde or Brenderup? Brenderup hands down every time!

In my view, the Anssems are essentially a Brenderup with aluminium sides rather than galvanised steel....so, will be lighter. Both are “high end” kit. That said, the Ifor Williams in another post is just “the daddy of trailers”!!!

Years ago on the T4/5 forum there was an advert for a trailer with a built in hob/ sink and poss a fridge for sale. It looked a really good set up, when I was ready to buy it I could never find the advert or the company making them, sure they were from the west country.

Hi All....Just to finish off this post...Picked up trailer yesterday ( as posted ).prior to collecting had many an idea how to modify...so had 2 xtra bars fitted so can use channels to bolt a C rail and add another canopy and on the other side bolt down the brackets to secure 2 solar panels ( not fitted in transit ) as well as keeping 2 bikes in the middle.....big idea is I can leave trailer attached for short days out or utilise extra canopy cover with awning tent for extended trips and free up the space in the van for sleeping....thanks again for all your inputs :)

Very smart, looks great. Anssems really do make fantastic quality trailers. Does it have a decent hitch lock fitted?

You might want to consider one of the Full Stop wheel clamps. You replace one of the wheel nuts and then this clamp clips on in a couple of seconds.

That and the Thule roof bars make a great combo.....never realized how multifunctional Thule systems are ...

It uses the Alko hitch lock ball thing...but as you recommend will fit a wheel lock ...thanks :thumbsup:

Good to see you have got your trailer, very handy to free up van from having stuff everywhere, especially large items like chairs, bbqs, tables etc.
One thing I have learned is still be disciplined on what you take on trips as its easy to take more than you really need as you have so much room.
Handy to have for use around home as well, great for picking up things or carting rubbish etc.
As you have said its a good place to mount extra solar panels and things like that.

All it needs is a couple of Sportline wheels and some spacers...

If they're ordinary bikes then I'd expect to be able to put them up there - I've never really struggled to get my old hard tail onto my hard top trailer or onto a roof mounted carrier - but my new eMTB would be another matter altogether! I put it onto my tow ball mounted carrier for the first time on Monday (without the battery which weighs 3.6Kg on its own!) and it nearly killed me - and it's less than half the height of your trailer. I can't wait to watch my mate trying to put his new eMTB on his roof mounted carrier!

Turned up at at a camp site in France a few years ago. On one pitch there was a huge family with about 6 vans and caravans, thought they were gypsies, but no horses or chucks running around. Huge dining table as in about 24 foot long with candelabra ( really). The matriarch was cooking in a trailer about 10 x 5, full cooker with oven, built in domestic sink, upright fridge and chest freezer, illuminated of course. Not my idea of a holiday, just swapping locations.

Brenderup do trailers with hinged lids on gas struts, I used to have one when we went tent camping. Towsure and Screwfix have camping trailers as well.
I’d go Brenderup way faster than I’d go Towsure or Screwfix! So versatile! Take the base unit and add to it as you want! Locking cover, bike carriers....

Here is mine collecting top soil today!
