Windows All Round Or Not?? Dummy or not??

@saxoboy I would never of thought about paint spraying behind the glass, but i suppose as i have a blackberry the jobs virtually done for me,
by the way definitely looks better with the dummy windows in my opinion.

Got to love a bamboo green ;)

Thanks @Peatey bamboo green was the different colour I wanted....i've been in BMWs prior to the van.....Estoril blue, so I wanted something different on the road....I love it :) Even blackberry though, I would defo recommend a black spray behind the glass...….picky people (me!) always look at the rear windows....at least I do now!!...they will see you've done a job!.... I used Matt Arnold of Hinkley Body WRX …… he built the £200K van.....lots of skill and talent.....and he knows how to paint any metal... :)

Looking for a bit of advice, I am thinking of fitting rear side windows to the back of my kombi, want I want to know is do the Kiravan windows match the look of the Kombi windows? One of the windows will be a dummy. I already have a tinted film on my windows making it look limo black. Cheers

The only way to match is to do exactly the same with the new windows as you have done with the existing.
I found out who manufactures the glass used in my middle windows and bought the rear quarter windows from the same manufacturer to match the glass up.
Started with bare panels, covered them with matt black vinyl then stuck the new glass to the vinyl.
Seems to have worked OK. NB added the camper glass rubber strip between the panes to hide the gap.

The Kombi has factory fitted tinted windows. Try TPS for the OEM tinted glass as limo glass is no way near a match. See page 1.

Thanks for the advice, I priced up the genuine windows at over £300 from the main dealer each in comparison to Kiravans at £69. My thoughts were as I now have in essence limo black windows, could I get away with kiravan windows with a tint on them to match, the dummy one should be ok, but the other one may look different from the inside but wasn’t to worried about that as long as outside you couldn’t tell. I will check with TPS too. Thanks

You may regret using cheap aftermarket glass with factory glass. Apart from the tint, the shape / radii are quite out and difficult to match.

Try VGC vehicle glass company, I believe they do a factory tint option on their windows. They are a bit more expensive than other aftermarket ones though.

VGC supplied my PG inc flush sliders and were good to deal with. They also supply bottle green so worth contacting them to check on the OEM match.

Just wondering on peoples thoughts on having windows all round.

My other half is keen to get the rear quarters as windows - I'm not so bothered (I think they will have the blinds down most of the time!). Need to make a decision as close to getting it booked in for a conversion!

Thanks in advance!

I have them all round (bar a dummy one behind the wardrobe) and find the extra window makes it feel a bit more open. I’d find it a bit dark without the rearmost window.

Glad I got the rear quarter nearside window put in. I use the mirror but I aways glance over my shoulder (bike habit).

Not for me, I kept the rear quarters as metal panels, but I did stick glass over them on the outside as I prefer the look.

Not done yet but rear windows are on the list. Also want the VW standard tint and not aftermarket which is much darker in most cases. Having researched it a bit it seems a bit of a faff to find the right ones outside of a VW dealer.
