Wing Mirrors Have Stopped Folding In When Locking.

Hi guys,

I have a 67 plate T6 with factory folding mirrors that used to work fine. I recently noticed that only the left one is folding so this is a new issue where my driver side (offside) doesn't seem to want to fold. It's the same whether I hold the lock button on the remote or turn the knob inside the door to "fold".

One-touch windows work fine on both sides and I've tried resetting the windows multiple times (windows all the way down for a few seconds, then all the way up for a few seconds) which doesn't seem to help.

Any ideas?

I'm wondering if the motor is knackered. I do have extended warranty with my local VW dealership but I'm not sure if this would be covered.

Check your one shot windows are still working, if batt has been disconnected then power windows need resetting and mirrors wont fold until you do

If it needs resetting take windows all the way down and hold button down for a few secs then all the way up and hold the switch up for a few extra secs
Thank for the advice, worked for me , T6 LWB November 18 ***** forum

When you guys say one touch windows... I have to hold the lock button the entire time the windows are closing (if I let go mid way they stop closing...) are yours the same or do you just hold the button till they start closing let go and they keep going?

Also does it matter where the mirror dial is left pointing if you want it to auto fold on lock, as I can't seem to get this to work at all (holding it a long time or one touch)

One touch is on the buttons in the doors not the key fob. You should be able to pull a window switch up, let go and the window continues to the top. If it doesn’t, one touch needs re setting.

Refer please to Pauly`s post on...
  • 9 Dec 2018 In addition ref the mirrors do all you can to keep the pivot base CLEAN it does not like excessive friction. This may or may not help but check out the battery in the key. But Pauly post does the trick in the main. Good luck. (LWB Oct 18)
