There are EGR two pipes that have a habit of splitting - one at the front and one at the back of the engine. There is also the flexi exhaust downpipe. It sounds like one of these are split from your description.
Selling two items and open to offers for either.
EGR REAR FLEXI PART NUMBER 04L 131 521 BF
EGR FRONT FLEXI PART NUMBER
04L 131 521 BH
Small flex is brand new, never fitted as I ordered the wrong part number and seller wants 50% return fee!
Large flex same as above but I did install and...
Thing is there’s the charge cooler inlet pipe to the manifold and the EGR cooler pipe to manifold. So it should not have been a part swapping experience imo, plus there has been so may EGR coolers that have failed due to the extreme heat and cooling they are put under, and that should have been...
Hi guys,
I have had to buy a new turbo because of a failure, but now I see the manifold is slightly different, do yo know if there has been a egrpipe revision?
I just did mine today and it was a massive pain in the a. Right pipe took 10mins, the left took 3 hours. Someone must have changed the egr cooler under warranty as the left top and bottom screws nearest the radiator were cross-threaded. Managed to sort the top but the bottom was wrecked as the...
Strangely the EML came on, was still running fine, still under car dealer warranty, so took it to VW who said it needed a EGR flush and pipe change, which they did, warranty coughed up and its been fine since! paying attention to oil usage now, its about 3/4 down the dipstick
...it. (Version L and M have modifications to them that allow them to be bolted down instead)
My version F charge air cooler, egr cooler and egrpipes, inlet manifold etc were all de-carbonised whilst off the van.
Charge air cooler is going back on this week but the rivets are pressed into the...
Mine has passed its MoT no problem since it forgot it had an egr. Regens are pretty much the same. 170 miles urban 250 on a run. Stops me worrying about buying a new engine.
Paid £600 for the EGR, plus £150 for the flexi pipe (admittedly from a main stealer - too many EGR variants to go off piste), quoted another £600 labour...
Dealer said 'they sell loads of these' so seems like a common fault, but an absolute sod to get at, good luck
Yeah I will, it seems to get universally positive feedback. Is it sufficient to just use blank off the two EGRpipes? I've seen some kits with 4 blanking plates and some with just two.
I have the CXEB engine so can’t comment on the CFCA. Based on my service records, My EGR was replaced due to a split pipe emitting exhaust fumes rather than the leaking cooler.
And yes, it was mapped out, along with the adblue as a precautionary measure. Unfortunately I don’t have money to...
It did for me but they (Croydon VW) also said normally everyone gets one free on VW as it’s known fault. Mine is a 2018 and they fitted a new EGRpipe free as well as they have been redesigned; worth checking if you have the new version, if not insist they change it as it’s an obvious admission...
Yes, EGRpipe not DPF. My mistake.
The EML has only appeared once and I had only been driving about an hour. Have done Cambridge to London and back since then. Also Cambs to Eastbourne and back, again with no problem. No EML and the engine ran sweet.
I love the van and love driving it so...
...countdown that doesn't want to reset and according to VW needs a new adblue injector, some bit of tube that's £450 and it's got the split EGRpipe on top of that.
Haven't seen the van since January and I've lost all faith in it ever really getting resolved without me spending thousands on it...
The videos I have seen have often shown the crack on the underside (not visible) so just wondered how best to spot.
I didn't think I could smell fumes in the cab, but I walked past an idling diesel car today and it smelled particularly bad and I realised that hints of what I could smell matched...
