...became noticeable on the paintwork, mainly on the leading faces of the vehicle. On examination, there was still some residue from the vinyl wrap that was collecting (I assume) vehicle particulates. Only became noticeable after a year or so. The usual cleaning techniques didn’t remove it...
I’ve now removed half of the wrap and reduced the price. She now looks like the pic below. Didn’t wanna remove the white coz I’d have to paint the wheels again. If it doesn’t sell in the next month I’ll keep it. I only do about 3,000 miles a year so it’ll soon be average mileage.
I have the very basic one in case we ever get around to camping in the 6.1 Caravelle and it fits fine even with the wind deflectors - just a bit tricky to use the front door as you'd expect but mirrors are fine
Will gloss black be cheaper? I think my quote was cheaper because the black is a cheaper/more available wrap? Why can’t they colour match for paint, it must have been colour matched in the first place as it wasn’t standard (unless it’s a California)
It says for up to 4mm2 cable. I'd think that is enough. I expect the cable isn't that thick. Wrapping them up in PVC tape will protect them from the elements.
Don't stress it, use fishing wire or dental tape layered up. You might be better off wrapping it as it's a right faff painting them. I've painted my but that's only because it's my trade.
Had a quote for pop top wrap Iro £600 locally. If ‘roof is in appropriate condition’.
Guy who did the polish has come back saying (as he did at time to be fair) thought the polish wouldn’t work longer term, but was surprised how quick it had failed.
He has offered a discount/ good will if I...
...all the replies, useful stuff. Just glad to know I've not got shonky insulation and it's normal. Got a front window cover and a tailgate latch, and wind deflectors so should be able to manage as we are, got a white poptop which helps massively, and better once the top half is all wrapped...
Looks great. We had some decals added to our Candy White to make it 'ours'. I considered a half wrap in orange but as we still had a large part of the conversion to fund I decided the wrap costs were too much.
That is appallingly crap. Unfortunately can be typical quality in the Wild West.
I’d be redoing by soldering and shrink wrapping . Loom wrap tape for a nice finish…
Name n shame?
If that was mine then I’d pull back the harness sheathing to expose the extent of the damage. Hopefully the wires can reconnected by piecing out individually, soldered and shrink wrapped.
Finally got round to adding the home painted gloss black grille and wrapped trims which match the side stripes and pop top. Had a bit of a shock when I found a false widow nest behind the bumper! Just need the boss to approve the look and can then do the lower grilles
Hi @Pauly yep, all sorted and working as they should  Thought I’d find parking by itself would be the most useful but have to say side assist is really handy, love it
