Morning All -
My van was in for a new auxiliary belt and tensioner a few weeks ago which was covered under my All-In extendedwarranty, and whilst it was there they diagnosed an issue with the screen wash system, the filler neck is perished apparently and requires replacement along with the...
...issue they need to strip the gearbox down and whilst they are very confident it will be a mechanical fault and covered under the extendedwarranty, they need me to authorise £575+VAT for 5-6hrs of diagnosis costs in case VW don’t approve the works.
I’ve disputed this risk with the dealer...
As @Dellmassive says in post #6 i.e. 3 years new warranty 31 July 2018 - 31 July 2021 then 2 years factory extendedwarranty - 31 July 2021 - 31 July 2023
I wasn't aware that you could extend beyond year 5 and in fact the van centre knew nothing about the 2 year factory extendedwarranty when...
I view the all in warranty as a nice to have that's largely free if you're happy to run a VW Service Plan and Assist.
It's better than nothing but not equivalent to the full extended factory warranty.
Yes I think my VW servicing days are over now that the van 6 years old and out of extendedwarranty.
They stated the part was £550. Then there were other parts which turned out to just be a washer then there was dreaded VAT and of course their labour.
Oh also VW have offered me 2 year extendedwarranty for £1100.00 does anyone know if this would be included? They say electrics are included but don’t know if this included the radio or not.
...first thing this morning (before the Carista arrived) she said it would be £200 diagnostic fee unless it’s covered by all-in extendedwarranty.
My question is do you guys think all-in extendedwarranty will cover this work with it being an engine component? If not I’d rather sack off the...
...was a fault in the wiring behind the right rear light cluster, and that they wouldn't repair the fault as it wasn't covered by the extendedwarranty, I went to pick the van up and the lassie said you don't have to pay anything do you? I said noooo. and she handed me the keys said its all...
...- just search as it's a very common theme - just be aware that there is the All In Plan (with servicing and breakdown) or just the extendedwarranty:

...the oil/inspec with supp service + diagnostic check. They also said the vehicle falls within the ability to take out a 2 year extendedwarranty. I'm not sure if it's worth the paper it's written on but it is peace of mind. @roadtripper Permission to start a thread asking people's experiences...
Did they give you the flow rates before and after?.... They may do if you ask.?
Because if after a flush or two, if it still fails the flow rate then it's new EGR time.
I had the same on the van...... failed two flushes, so replacement was fitted. (Under extendedwarranty)
To answer my own question; 2 years. Just had another flush and new front pipe following an EML. VW wouldn’t do it under the extendedwarranty but did give 50% goodwill on parts and labour so £200 all in. I’m guessing next step will be to replace the valve and cooler if it comes back again
Oil leaks are not covered under the ALL-IN plan.
But are covered under the Factory Extendedwarranty.
As you mentioned MOT well assum you have the ALL-IN cover.
Crankshaft main seal is a common item to need addressing. (Had mine done at 60k under factory warranty)
Have they quoted you for it...
Presumably it’s still under the 3 year factory warranty which should be transferred to you. You can’t have an extendedwarranty on a vehicle that already has a warranty on it. The extendedwarranty is only available on vehicles over 3 years old & that are out of warranty.
