Best route for rear camera cable in fully converted van ?

I’m sure I read a post about routing the cable into the rear door. Like you seems a bit daunting

Cable length from battery to rear offside wheel area.

I cant help with lengths for this particular route but, if you didn't know, there are channels under the front floor trim from the seats to the centre of the dash. This is the route that VW use for several cables and its a useful space for aftermarket modifications too. Once behind the dash it's...

LED / Xenon headlight level-sensor cable route

Hello everyone has anyone retrofitted Xenon or LED headlights to their vans and have fitted the front and rear level sensors plus associated wiring. The real level sensor does the cable for this run under the van from rear to front or does it enter the van via a grommet somewhere and travel...

    Hillside Birchover

One of my picture from the thread linked above shows the cable from where it comes inside the velcro, going through a hole into the void behind the rear central shelf (where I have the shading diode). From here it's is simply routed behind the cabinets to the void behind the panel in the wardrobe.

    Ad-blue MFD not displaying

Was it still taking a cable into the bottom black and purple plug in the e box to activate ccs ? I don’t think @Tanstalf got his ccs working and now think it’s something to do with the earlier clocks or something to do with it being a EURO5

Moving electrics from under drivers seat

Hi, I am in the process of putting electrics in van and routing cable from main battery, I have pulled out what I assumed to the the grommet that the cable goes through but it was attached to a pipe and seems to be some kind of breather and will be next to impossible to get the pipe back in...

L/Battery - go large or go lithium?

Panels connect through a hole in pop top and routed to ‘wardrobe’. I followed the step by step on the install and was very happy to use spade piggy backs rather than try and route a wire all through van to leisure battery. I will leave all disconnected until I can get some proper pictures of...

Best use of spare LiFepo4 battery.

Not a single build thread, but posts in various leisure electrics threads and the ‘what have you done to your van today’ thread. Mine was an upgrade to lifepo4 plus solar which also meant replacing the existing, but unsuitable, CBE kit and taking the opportunity to relocate things from the rear...

Can anyone help with the cable routing for side assist, extra 4 parking sensors and TPMS?

Twin slider pre-pop top wiring advice

I put all my ceiling lighting wiring in place before my pop top was fitted. I did the carpet lining myself so wiring wasn't an issue but I think most of my front to rear cabling I ran from the drivers seat base into the space beneath the offside slider footwell then up to my fuse box in the rear...

    Keeping starter battery topped up

If you bring the cable out over the front of the engine bay around where the washer bottle/end of headlight is there is usually enough clearance to tuck a cable in that area with the compression of the bonnet seal. Ideally wrap the area of the cable in a bit of cloth or tape to give some just...

Benefit to battery under passenger seat

Hi Folk, I’ll shortly be heading down the leisure battery route, to enable diesel heater, lights and additional rear sockets etc. I see most people mount the battery under the drivers seat. Is there a main reason for this? We’ve got a captain seat up front, and I’m looking at the possible...

What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Yesterday and today, finally got my solar panel bonded to the pop top. Renogy 200W bonded with Sikaflex 552 to a layer of clear PPF so it will be easier to remove if (when!) I need to. Left a 3-4mm gap below the panel to give some ventilation. Cables route through a Scanstrut gland outside the...

    Leisure Battery vs Power Bank

EHU cable-run in to cab area.

Evening to the collective. Just a quick question. And yes I have searched Those of you with split charging and EHU under the bonnet, did you use the same hole through the passenger side grommet? I'm about to run my EHU hook up into the drivers side base but wanted to check if there was...

    Disconnecting solar panel

My immediate concerns with the battery as is: Doesn't look physically secured so likely to move under crash or emergency braking - this may also sheer the cables that appear to be routed through the paneling vent holes. No master fuse on the positive terminal - fire risk. Poorly terminated and...

Dash cam - how does it work?

...That will give 12V positive feed supply. There should also be a (usually black) wire that goes to a ground (negative point) along the cable route. cable route is likely behind/under glove box and up the A pillar. My dash cam ground point is on a screw behind the side panel of the dash...

Moving electrics from under drivers seat

Yes I have a sunroof, that’s what it must be, it’s coming from the exact spot as in the picture where the grommet is so I’ve routed the cable through anyway, the drain pipe is that’s what it is has came off and there is no way of me putting it back on either so hopefully won’t cause any issues
