Please help me - how to use camper plug sockets?

Thank you very much. This is the engine bay if this helps? I’m so confused still, so it would seem like I do have what’s required but the engine needs to be on? I was told by the fitter, to ensure the alternator is always turned off… unless it needs to be used (for off grid use only) The...

    What Have You Bought Today?

Sounds perfect for my trips coming up. I’ve come from a 6berth caravan. But now it will be just me and my son in the swb with awning and tow bar box. Travelling light and doing a thoughtful and cost effect conversion from now onwards. I am going for a ply guys install which will mean I can still...

Strange issue with DC-DC charger [Resolved]

Sounds like you have a bad connection on either the positive from the alternator or the ground - or some other cause of high resistance. The resistance, and subsequent voltage drop during load is why it measures ok when it’s not connected and drops off when connected.

    [Guide] Clayton LPS II 2500 - 1kWh (leisure battery + Inverter) -- How I Done It --

Charging . . . . we started with the 240c mains charging. . . it comes with the mains lead and the fancy locking plug. . notice how the plugs are recessed into the unit so it be pushed back to a wall flat - a very nice design touch . . . switching the mains on you get a full rate...

Camper conversion electrics system- does this look right?

I suggest that the following battery isn't fit for what you have your mind set on. 600W is still a whack of juice for a small AGM to provide and bear in mind you still need a cold fridge 24/7: You go on to say this, which doesn't really make any compromise at all, given that the proposed...

PMS 3h - Power Management System

Hi Guys, new to this forum and having some difficulties with my PMS3 fitted to my T5. I have it wired to the leisure battery only as I don’t want do draw anything from the starting battery. I have a split charge relay topping up the battery on the move but plugged into EHU I can’t seem to get...

First time help with ecoflow setup

A week or two off-grid... That's a big ask. I had the EF delta 2 at summer camp, running two fridges, usb , TV, camp lights etc etc... That lasted about 2days before flat..... Even with 400w solar in the roof it still needed up flat as we had a few grey days with no sun.. so still had to plug...

Sargent + Leisure Battery Charging Help

Hi All, I'm looking for some advice if you can help. I've recently purchased a T6 Highline converted camper and I have no clue what I should and shouldn't be doing to ensure that I manage and charge the leisure battery correctly. I've taken photos of what's been installed during the conversation...

Portable Power Packs - LifePo4 Battery Boxes -- How I done It --

@Dellmassive our van has a leisure electrics install with solar panel on the roof to keep the battery topped up but it will not deliver 240v power to run laptops, fridge or power a camping electric kettle or a small Lavazza coffee machine. The 12v (cigarette adapter) powers the Vevor fridge and...

[Guide] Renogy IP67 50A DC-DC Charger + MPPT (for leisure battery) -- How We Done It --

Hi dellmassive Thought I’d post here on this thread as it’s a bit more recent than the seat base electrics thread from 2021. After a fair amount of deliberation I’ve decided to put half of the install on a bulkhead behind the drivers seat. The main reason being wanting to avoid stuff...

    Bluetti, Ecoflow? Which is best??

Right I am about to press go on having a Leisure style battery setup (traditional way of doing things) but before I do I am seriously considering a decent power source either Bluetti or Ecoflow with a foldable solar then just carry a camping 240v EHU Cable for when I’m on campsites. I am coming...

Lithium LifePo4 12v Batteries - Time For An Upgrade?

@Dellmassive. Lee - As you might recall from my posts a month or so ago ('Leisure Battery Cream Crackered'), I need a new battery (and DC-DC charger) and feel that I might need to move quickly on one of these before they all go! I'd be really grateful if you could give the 1 minute lesson on...

    Leisure battery......Again

I don’t really understand the description of the green lights but 12.58v after a full charge isn’t terrible although you’d expect more like 12.8v from an AGM fresh off a good charger - if this dips heavily as you fire the heater up that would be bad sign though. What battery and charger are you...

Topping up leisure battery with Jackery 240

Yes you can do that.. Provided the van draws less than the 200w the jackory can output.( Assuming you have a 12v power supply or changer on the van that charges the leisure battery from EHU) Spec says 200w and 240wh. So it won't last for ever.... But it will give you 200wh extra to play...

    Victron IP65 battery charger 15amp or 25amp?

A 15A charger will keep up with those loads ... my average leisure battery load in a T6.1 Ocean is about 3A when camped up off-grid. If I turn everything on full, then 10A max on the leisure side. IMO a 25A charger gives a bit more headroom while still being well within the recommended charging...

    Leisure battery failed?

Drivers seat has swivel base, so as you say, I’m limited for height. Currently we only have fridge, diesel heater, water pump, led lights and some usbs running on the leisure. But we are considering an inverter (or portable power box might be a better choice) to run an induction hob when not on...

Twin passenger V Single passenger captain seat.

Thanks very much. Seems a similar setup to mine; I am debating just going for a off grid power unit that can be carried rather than lithium just so I don't have to change lights etc. With regards to your captain seats; are they OEM? they look like the ones from Camper Beds & Seats Are they...
