I assume all I need is a Flexy solarpanel, correct glands and an inline fuse?
With that in mind
Any panel recommendations
What panel size - Usual fridge running, lights no invertor. We...
Hi new to VW transporters and campervans my T6 has a solarpanel fitted on the pop top roof connected to a Ctek d250se but there is just a single flashing light on it all the rest are off ?
Is this working? there isn't a monitor fitted
Thanks Simon
Hello everyone,
I've recently had a Westdubs pop top fitted to my van and I am now wanting to fit my solarpanel which I have already bought.
It's a 150w flexi solarpanel with a rear cable that will come through a hole in my new roof towards the back of the pop top with the cable coming...
Replaced my solarpanel and ran new cables in using mc4 connections. At each stage I checked for volts all good at 20-22v all the way to the final crimped tail ends. However on plugging said ends into the Victron mppt the controller is not doing anything and showing no activity , charger is off...
Hi I wouldn’t stick it on top of an old panel, ours was replaced this way it’s never looked right and has now started to part with the original. I’ll remove both and fit a new panel onto the pop top.
Saved a little time and money but not worth it

...everything being driven by battery - though more likely in the sunny months especially if you can deploy something like a folding 200w solarpanel in addition to a fixed one.
Not being funny but you certainly won't if you are not forking out for decent panels - you'll have a high demand and...
Fwiw...
My test showed you needed 50w for more. With a solar controller.
I had no luck with 5/10/20w panels... And the direct plug in ones are deffo not good. (No controller)
Hi I have a pop top that’s for an end kitchen so the other way round compared to many. Looking for advice on fitting solarpanel and the subsequent wiring run.
In effect panel would be at the front of the van with wiring having to get all the way to the rear to enter possibly running along the...
With rails installed, I’ve used butterfly Erwin fixings to mount the solarpanel - thankfully the pre drilled panel holes fitted perfectly!
1) Install butterfly bolts & lock down with nut.
2) add another nut & lock to panel (on ground) via a third nut.
3) lift into position & screw down.
I’d...
Here's a question. Possibly a daft one.
Is it possible to make use of the exterior EHU socket when using an mobile solarpanel?
Does anyone make an adaptor?
I would prefer this to messing about with crocodile clips.
No - it allows your EcoFlow to back feed into the mains supply in your house - like a fully fitted house battery or house solarpanels.
Interesting if you have means of charging an EcoFlow off solar, or have enough to shift very cheap overnight electricity to the more useful daytime.
However...
Fitted my panels between roof bars. Didn't want to start drilling holes in the roof so only connect the panels to battery when parked using standard solar connectors.
Will take the chair off tomorrow and send pics, thanks for help so far
This is the panel:

The webbing straps appear to be Reimo, and it looks like the Reimo roof I had on my old van.
So yes, it could take a rack for paddleboards.
A challenge would be your solarpanel though. You don’t want to shade part of the panel with a roof bar
Does seem like a cracking deal. With solarpanels (200w) and cables / case etc all under £1k... Wouldn't need to make too many coffees or cheese and ham toasties to recoup money! With my lot!
