    Oil specs - 2021 199bhp 4mo Caravelle

Search with ‘oil level’, it’s a known issue, possibly due to fuel dilution. If it is due to fuel dilution you need to act to prevent engine damage.

Oh that's good news then, is the t6.1 150 a different engine then?. It must of been those I saw having dilution issues. Thanks

Maybe diesel dilution in the sump? Dpf clogged? Egr full?

...volume. This is not uncommon and it's not restricted to VW engines. Have a read of some of these threads for a better understanding of oil dilution; https://www.t6forum.com/search/2778894/?q=oil+dilution&o=relevance Oil on and around the oil filter housing wouldn't worry me too much, it's...

No worries. If he thinks a white background would work better I'll trust his judgement.

Can do! The young lad is concerned that the black background would “dilute” the impact of the blue. He’s configuring it on his computer now and I’ll let you know

Is safe delete DPF and Adblue?

Kind of what I’m doing currently to be honest. Pre-empting at the moment as my regen frequency is the biggest red flag indicating it’s getting blocked. But such frequent regens also bring their own problems right? Like a rather unreasonable MPG and oil dilution?

Welcome to the Forum, there's plenty on here about oil dilution and DPF issues!

T6.1 too much oil warning - how worried should I be?

...OK. If the oil is black / brown (no water emulsification) and the oil level is rising without anybody adding oil it is due to fuel dilution. Fuel dilution at just 2% will damage an engine / turbochargers. Have a search, the info’ is posted. If you suspect fuel dilution you have three choices...

T6.1 Reduce oil level and Oil dilution

Mine (poverty plus business pack) has been fine since draining out about 600ml. No evidence of dilution or contamination, thenoil smells ok and it isnt rising, it just didn't tolerate the standard issue slight overfill that seems common practice among garages these days.

Coolant level low. What to top it up with?

Sorry, got the impression you had no choice but to drive today. Order online for next day delivery if concerned about dilution.

...sense now. Would you say I'm best to just do an oil/filter change to be safe, note the new oil level and monitor it. No need for oil tests etc if dilution issues isn't a big thing with the t6 engine. Most likely just been filled slightly too much during the last service perhaps. Thanks Paul

T6.1 Reduce oil level and Oil dilution

From reading this, I would certainly want to change the oil if it has been diluted by fuel. To not do so risks excessive engine wear by the sounds of it. So why are dealers just siphoning off the excess? @Ian Watt, what did VW assist say?

T6.1 Reduce oil level and Oil dilution

This explains it better than I could… Oil dilution - diesel in oil and petrol in oil.

T6.1 Reduce oil level and Oil dilution

It doesn't occur. Excessive dilution is all but unheard of on these. The warning messages are simply a case of garages brimming the oil to the top mark on the dipstick or even beyond. Sooner or later this upsets the sensor. Once the oil level is reduced to around the halfway mark the warning...

Genuine diesel dilution is unusual on these. Not unheard of, but the case for the prosecution is rarely proven. Occam's Razor suggests the garage simply rammed up full up to the line. They're happiest with the level about halfway between the lines, so you'll need to pump out c.500ml, perhaps a...

    150 engine problem

Sounds like excess fuel, if it’s on start up most likely a leaking injector. The excess fuel will be washing the bore, diluting the oil, clogging the EGR / induction and damaging the DPF. Don’t run it in this condition. A garage should be able to diagnose this.
