    cable routing

@jhian123 Post #12 coves both, but I imagine @Deaky and I are both thinking you mean the engine bay, in which case post #18 is more in depth. https://www.t6forum.com/threads/engine-bay-cable-route-through-bulkhead-firewall-to-cabin.1318/

    cable routing

Hello all, am looking to install the renogy dual dc charger under my drivers seat but need to get a cable from under the drivers seat to the fuse box of my t6.1. Any ideas of the best route, ideally under the floor, seems most logical , however that is rarely the case

Show us your Driver/Pax Seat Leisure Battery setups

Finished off installing the CTEK DC to DC charger under passenger seat to replace OEM SCR (T6.1 with factory leisure battery). Was going to fit Victron after some Forum recommendations but wanted ability for Solar and the CTEK is one unit, plus I got a great Trade price on one so went for it...

    Ecoflow Alternator Charger 800W

Thanks for the above My daily commute to work is 20miles so that should be ok. I'm tempted to upgrade the alternator but looks like a pig of a job. Lastly anyone got a video of how to route the cable through to the battery ?

What have I done.. What is next?

Here is my list if anyone wants to know more about what I have done to my Cali Ocean 2016. I think I will end up with the SF tuning Panamera full kit on it next, but I have to deal with the minor issue of being made redundant and starting up my own business.. as soon as that's out of the way...

Lithium LifePo4 12v Batteries - Time For An Upgrade?

I replaced mine with a Victron ip65 as I didn’t want to cause any issues, plus I was going the full Victron route. In reality I’ve not even fitted it (cables in place ready) as I find the solar covers my needs. The whole point of going lifepo4 and solar for me was to be off-grid and it has...

Upgraded Lithium leisure battery - update

Had a similar experience with mine when I found the existing system fitted by a so called professional conversion company (now gone bust!) was not suitable for the van and wasn’t lithium capable. I changed pretty much all of it and fitted solar and relocated the battery and chargers to under the...

Upgraded Lithium leisure battery - update

Hi pal. I get charge when the van is running, have no solar as not really needed. Have a fridge running, lights and usbs when out camping. If we have hook up we have a tv too. The ip22 is only in use when hooked up to EHU. But max we would be off grid is 2-3 days so nothing major. I have...

My full electrics upgrade project with a long inverter cable run

Next I had to start looking at the seat base itself. I made some slight modifications to the base to allow more room for the cables to come up into the seat base and also made some hole in the side which is where the 2 50mm2 cables are going to be routed to the back of the van for the inverter...

My full electrics upgrade project with a long inverter cable run

So progress has been made on the install at last. I’ve moved the amp from the drivers seat to the passenger seat. I managed to get it to fit at the front if the enclosure that the sub is mounted in. I re-routed the audio cables over to the passenger seat and ran a new 16mm2 cable to power the...

    New Van Electrics layout WIP

When you come to the installation, I would earth to the nearest earth point on the van, rather than route everything back with cable to an earth busbar. Less cable needed, and less voltage drop. For example, if your diesel heater is under drivers footwell, there is an earth point right next to it.

    New Van Electrics layout WIP

Like a lamb to the slaughter , hopefully to obtain some good advice from the Electrically minded on here . I have been pondering the layout & leisure setup in my new van for a while. I did go down the Roamer design route but it was all bells & whistles and would of been unnecessary for my needs...

T6 Caravelle (LHD) - Switching Double Passenger (airbag, heating) to Single Passenger (airbag, heating) sensor [Resolved]

Thanks for this info. Appreciate you taking time to feedback on your outcome . I fitted a driver swivel yesterday (RIB) into our t6.1 shuttle. Plan was to also install the Kiravans double swivel on the passenger side as have double bench seat and the new style Kiravans double swivel has the...

    Physical layout of electrical components

@ginkster thanks for your input. I've amended the diagram and removed the fuse into the B2B. I've also shown a fuse on the outlet from the leisure battery. It's something I'd have have hopefully noticed when I came to doing the wiring. As far as fusing all outputs on the positive busbar, all...

FitCamX Dashcam (power from rain sensor)

Because I want to use the parking mode on the highly sensitive setting, it also often sits for quite some time, so I try and keep as much as possible away from the main battery. BTW it works really well a light tap on the windows is all it takes to start recording. I also prefer to keep any 3rd...

    Experiences with Gigaclear Broadband

I would be grateful for advice from other T6Fers on any experiences with Gigaclear. My BT contract is now up and whilst they've generally been good, they're getting increasingly expensive when compared to introductory offers from Gigaclear who recently finished their fibre network in the...

    Disconnecting solar panel

Thanks for this, I’ll get the above sorted as a matter of urgency and won’t be using the inverter.

    Disconnecting solar panel

My immediate concerns with the battery as is: Doesn't look physically secured so likely to move under crash or emergency braking - this may also sheer the cables that appear to be routed through the paneling vent holes. No master fuse on the positive terminal - fire risk. Poorly terminated and...
