They are all 55w for dipped halogen so power is the same. Performance may be different if one is say a 150% bulb and the other a standard bulb but they are all available in higher performance versions.
The main factor will be the design of the light. Projector lights are great at focusing a...
tried searching but couldn't find answer, i noticed the light wasn't that great on the previous lights i sent back. i did learn they used a H11 bulb in a projector for the dipped beam.
My question is, compared to H4 or H7, is there a difference in power or throw with the h11 as a dipped beam vs...
There are loads of threads on this subject, this one will have all you need: H4 To H7 Upgrade
I've just gone through this and went with some H7s bought off Facebook Marketplace for £70 plus some better bulbs and LED DRLs - all in £110. I'd say don't waste your money on new H4bulbs as they...
I've just fitted Osram 200% Nightbreaker H4bulbs and they are noticeably better, on rural Cumbrian roads (so similar to you). Whiter light, greater throw and a noticeable bit brighter. Worth a try at £30 and a few expletives during the restricted access fitting.......... Great service from...
As mentioned above, don’t waste your money on upgrading the H4bulbs just go straight for some H7 headlights. H4s will always be poor. I’ve just fitted some H7s that I got for £70 off FB. A pretty simple and quick upgrade (about an hour) that makes a huge difference to headlight performance. You...
Morning T6 Brain trust.
I've got a 2015 T6 startline with the H4bulbs. Just fitted better bulbs but was wondering if there was any vertical adjustment in the headlight as even on the hiest setting on the adjustment knob in the cab they are still too low. Can't find anything around the web so...

I’m intrigued. I’ve pretty much always upgraded headlight bulbs to the best halogens at the time. Over the years these have gone from +60% to +200% although I’m convinced they changed the baseline (latest say x% increase vs minimum allowed under some EU standard rather than x% brighter than a...
I did fit the Osram nightbreaker 200 H4bulbs without problems and the wife is happy, she no longer has to walk in front waving a red lantern! :)
Actually there is a noticeable improvement, although nothing to get too excited over, but I can live with the headlights now.
As far as I can...
As an alternative approach, you could consider an aftermarket LED projector upgrade to your headlamps.
I have recently completed LED projector installation on OEM H4 T5.1(2015) headlamps for a friend of mine.
I bought a pair of universal LED projectors. I think it was from eBay and the cost was...
H4 replacement. Brand new - unused. Comes with anti flicker units. Bought these with the intention of getting a cheap set of H4 headlights from eBay and trying these in them as a project, but never quite got round to it. £100 posted.
Hello i am trying to upgrade all my head light bulbs to led, However the main head light bulbs seem to have a very small bulb next to the H4bulbs. I can't for the life of me find out what this bulb is!
If anyone knows what type of bulb this is would be a great help
Thanks
Daniel
No the H4 bulb is only for the dip/main beam
The DRL is a H11 I believe. You can swap this bulb to LED but to be honest its only for aesthetics as DRL's don't add anything significant to the light output at night.
Upgrading the main/dip H4 bulb will make a small difference but don't expect...
Hi KKev
So far I have not had the meed to drive my T6 at night but I have put Nightbreakers in my MX5 and in my daughter's Polo and yes, they are a worthwhile investment for around £20.00 a set (plus skinned knuckes in the case of my MX5)
You only need to swap out the H4bulbs
Hope this helps...
Hi all,
I am in the process of changing the H4bulbs in my 2016 T6.
I have searched the forum to see if someone has posted something in the past but couldn’t find anything.
I have removed the metal clip and the plastic covering. I have removed the plug from the back of the bulb. I have...
