I need to down size my front tyres as rubbing the inner arch on full lock.
At the moment I have 275/40/20 and lowered about 80mm, will 265/40/20 be enough to stop the rub or would I need to go 255/40/20.

TIA
I have three Goodyear Eagle F1 265/40/R20 Assymetric 3 104Y extra load tyres up for sale.

Been on my van for less than 300 miles, looking for £385 for the three, collection from Chester area or may courier at your cost. You could also use the forum courier service .

All the way down - is that 70mm? just wondering as I am still in the market for 20'' and looking what tyre options there are for my T32 which is sitting on B14's at 55mm drop..
B14’s and a 55mm drop, you’ll be

Hello all you helpful people :waving:

I've got my Kombi on order and for reasons I won't bore you with the dealer won't supply me with my chosen wheels fitted with tyres (due to the VW supplied tyre size not being load rated for a T32...) but is supplying the wheels I want 'bare'

So I need 4 No. 265/40R20 relatively soon!

Looking for recommendations on brand and model please. It will be my daily drive doing around 20k miles per year lowered on VW supplied T32 Eibach coilover suspension. I'm not incredibly fussed about price, but just want some decent tyres!

My general experience is that higher price = better performance & lower miles and lower price = lower performance & higher miles, but open to suggestions!

Chime in please guys & girls!

after reading lots on here and asking a ton of questions I went with goodyear eagle F1. I've got 265's on the rear and 245's on the front and I am pleased with them.

Well that's interesting, they're on my list and moving up towards pole position!

If it’s a 4 Motion then you need to keep the circumference the same from to back. As @The Van Cave states 245/45/20 are the same as 275/40/20. Also available in 103 so good for a T32. That’s how mine are set up. Putting those on the front stopped the bit of arch liner rub on full lock and made the steering much more precise and lighter.
I’m pretty sure they’d be ok on 9j, but someone will confirm that I’m sure, mine are 8.5
@Bigsidavies Got the same tyre sizes 245/45 - 275/40 for my staggered set up 8.5j - 10j but haven’t put them on yet. Can I ask have you lowered yours!? Just wondering what I can get away with and if I need to heat and mould the arches.. currently at 55mm drop.

Yeah, mine was lowered at CRS with the Koni/H&R setup. I’m 50mm down. No rubbing with this setup.ACF3542C-021A-4F83-9C12-063B4DB1D01C.jpeg

I have 20”wheels with 255/35/20 tyres and have lowered my 2018 shuttle by 50mm all round does anyone know what’s the biggest
tyre I can fit as the current ones are thinner than the wheel so lots of kerb scratching

Depends what width wheel you have but standard sizes are 275/35/20 or 265/40/20 if your a t32 but I’m guessing not with 255/35/20 on .

Let’s forget about load rating and focus on what you all think the best size of tyre on a 20 x 8.5/10 staggered setup would be, striking the balance between practicality and aesthetics.

Feel free to post pics

Disappointingly, staggered wheels wouldn’t work on the Caravelle without trimming the door cards, so I’m running 8.5 all round. I looked at loads of different tyre sizes and ended up with 245/45/20. I had originally planned on 245/40 but I couldn’t get the load rating I wanted. Overall im happy with how they look and how they ride.

Avoid 275‘s on the front, they’re way too big for the 8.5.
