On the Area VIEW ECU the 4 Connectors are Coded in 4 Coulours with different plastic "coding" on the outside of the connector.
It looks like this cable does not have this codings, and so it will probably fit in all 4 connectors.

Yes Outside the Vehicle.
Just connect it to the CAN on OBD connector of your VCDS, to be able to connect to it for Diagnose.
And to make this work you need to supply OBD Connector with 12V , too.

OK, I got that! But AFAIK, this control unit is from MQB platform, could you be so kind to tell us how do you intend to make it work on PQ25 platform? Will you use some kind of emulator for CAN messages?
