360° camera (Area view 2) - retrofit

To get image you need DM and IC connected to CAN network and I am too lazy to pull these out of my vehicle.
Could you just test it by connecting the FAKRA to any kind of monitor with RCA jack?

Regarding data set I only looked up wheel bases but I didn't really check what files are available.
So after verifying I found the following data sets: 3 versions for Passat, 2 versions for Tiguan & 1 for Ateca.
Remember that this retrofit is going to be based on "Area View 2"
and so far we have verified 2 units 5Q0 907 556 B & 5Q0 907 556 C.
This is going to be experimenting approach as I am hoping that even if data set is not going to give us correct parameters
the system calibration of 4 cameras should compensate for these imperfections.

About wheelbase - I don't think that Area View was ever factory fitted on Tiguan and Tiguan face lift!

So some Update with little drawback ....
Area View needs MQB "Klemme 15 is on" Message, to work.
Here how you do that: Add MQB Klemme 15 on CAN Message for Robert · dnoermann/car-tools@582dedd

But in my Setup with Discover Media, Cluster and BCM on Table, the Area View is complaining about having no Display .... (in measure channel)
So BAP Communication between DM and Area View is not working.
Could be that PQ Gateway is not transfering this IDś from Engine to Comfort can ....
Probably DeadEnd

Whilst I think they are a great idea...... my god they look ugly and spoil the lines of the van. Not for me.

Paranoia, safer to stay at home in the under-stair cupboard.
Now we know where you hide! Can’t you just hide under the bed like normal people and leave the under stairs cupboard for when you’ve been naughty?!! (I accept that you have probably graduated beyond “naughty” as a measure!)

I fitted one of these systems to my friends T4 to give them a 360° Birds Eye System birds eye vision (yes I know not currently available on this link but it shows you which system I used).

You could connect the 4 camera feeds to this 4 channel DVR (it doesn’t do the birds eye function). I use one similar on my caravan so I can see all the corners and record them just like a dash cam would so I can hopefully prove something wasn’t my fault. The price on this system is a little mental but for me it give peace of mind.

The reason I show these 2 systems is that I thought it may help others with their Google searches to find similar products.

If you come up with anything then please share it here so others can benefit.

Did this ever get any further?

Hello everybody!

I read this thread with interest and got important information for my retrofit.
I sat and analyzed for almost 2 years whether to install the Area View system on my Passat GTE car, which I started to purchase piece by piece until this moment when I installed it.
The work was colossal, but I wanted everything to be as per the book and for the retrofit to come out like it did from the factory, only that I got stuck in the coding of the area view mode, which does not want to communicate correctly with my car.
I preferred to cut the cables and attach pins with pliers especially because even in the diagram it says that it uses pins 24-27 from the side door plugs.
After mounting and coding, the module displays 4 errors that I cannot remove because of the coding.
These are:

I chose the option with C because I studied in ETKA that this module fits perfectly for the generation of my car. The module comes from a Tiguan AllSpace 2020 but I don't understand why it doesn't want to communicate correctly. The cameras work ok, they show me my car in 3D on the screen, I also managed to calibrate them somewhat forcibly, because I had big problems with the positioning of the rear camera from the logo that I mounted and disassembled 5 times so far and it is still not mounted properly. But I hope that I will adjust it correctly during the next installation.
The controls work correctly, they display correctly only I don't have access to any Mod Adaptation which tells me "Feature not available" and I have the above errors.
I'm attaching the coding I made inspired by your videos (explanations are very good) and I would like if you have time to give your opinion on what it could be. I think the camera parameterization is good (I have a parameterization option for the module with the letter B, but I don't think it's necessary to write it), moreover, the module came like this from the factory, but not for my car, and should be totally compatible, or maybe it's defective. I have the module ID here:

I understand that the other modules in the car should communicate correctly with the AreaView module, but this is not happening, and I don't know what adaptations to make to the ESP, gearbox, etc. so that they communicate with the new module from my car.
Sorry for writing so much, but I wanted to pass on all the information I have at the moment.
Moreover, I understood that GTEs have a much more sophisticated and complex CAN communication system than other cars.
I mention that I have ODIS, VCDS and OBD11 but they didn't help me at all.
This is my last coding 01840201C70FE7175A316D37, but I disabled the gearbox and others in the coding to get rid of the errors in the mode, which are now 3.

Please tell me if you have an idea.

Thanks!
