The most blatant ignore I got nearly resulted in a fight.
We were towing down to a site on the beach in Cornwall and as we approached the entrance a T6 was just pulling out so I waved. The guy could clearly see me and for a few seconds we locked eyes, me waving and him just staring and straining to get closer to the windscreen as his eyes got wider until, almost with a shudder, he shook just his head and just drove on passed. I couldn't believe it.
I uttered a stream of profanities, thought about going after him, then made a mental note to re-evaluate my waving regime, carried on and pitched up.
Next morning I got up early and went for my usual walk along the beach and low and behold there's non-waving gimp boy from yesterday on a windsurfer, preening like a pro. He tried to ignore me but it was obvious he had seen me but I carried on my walk.
All of a sudden I heard a crack and a loud groan and as I turned around I could see him struggling to get back on his board as the choppy waves broke over him. Then it became obvious he had cracked his head open and he looked in some distress. I could clearly see blood and his efforts to climb on his board became more and more laboured.
All of a sudden he started frantically waving his arms around. I realised what I had to do so I sped towards the sea in his direction while he struggled more and more, arms becoming less and less active.
Suddenly he spotted me; his eyes locked on to mine as he realised rescue was at hand.
And just as I got to the edge of the sea I spotted a sudden look of realisation on his face as it clicked who I was and as his arms made one almost involuntary wave, I strained to look closer at him, shook my head, turned and walked away as he slipped beneath the waves.
See how he feels when people don't respond to waving.
Never saw him again and good riddance. Ignorant fooker.
