AdBlue Newbie

Does this sound about right? Just bought my brand new T6.1 Campervan 150bhp DSG a couple of months ago now with 2491 mls and had this message. Never had to use AdBlue before and conscious of the recent thread of dodgy T6.1 error messages.
Do I buy draught at the pump or bottled from Halfords, Morrisons etc?
TIA.

Doesn’t really matter where you get it from as long as you follow those instructions in the dash display about how much to put in, and follow the handbook instructions on what to do once you have put it in.

Thought mine did 6k,before top up.
Is the 6.1 AdBlue tank smaller?
They all do around 4500-6000 miles on a fill. But the first warning is around 1500 miles remaining. After that it nags you all the way down to empty, at which point it won’t start.

Draught! Like it! :p

I just filled mine, for reference and anyone who has a similar thing, mine said 1500 mile range and then said add 1.75-2.25 Gal, I initially read that as litres and thought what an odd small amount to fill but another quirk of VW is that they seem to be asking for it as 1.75-2.25Gal so essentially 10l. I put in 9 litres to try and get me in the middle of that range and it's immediately showing a 5000 mile range.

It's a bit like the speed showing in KMH and having no way to change it to MPH on the digital display when the units are set to UK Miles, but whatever!

Some people change the units to metric, add the AdBlue then switch back to imperial.

You can also change the digital display to MPH with Carista or VCDS or similar. There’s a guide on here if you search for it.

Thanks Phil. Funnily enough I was just going out to buy AdBlue this afternoon. Reckon if I do 8 litres that should cover off the 1.75 to 2 gallons and get me to 5000 miles before the next refill.

I agree with you on some of the weird 'lost in translation' issues! It also obvious that the VW bean counters had the product planners by the nuts by the list of items you'd expect as standard on a near model run out T6.1 Highline. I guess they've squeezed us more by lobbing the Christmas tree at the Sportline with an accompanying price increase. My wife constantly reminds me we're missing heated seats which I don't think you can retrofit
