Aftermarket Digital Instrument Cluster

Just going to throw this out there that I've been looking into the consumption reports and also agree it's affecting the tank mileage calculation. What I figured out.. by throwing the live data on the android auto display via Car Scanner app, and setting the consumption unit to Litres per hour I took a look at the idling consumption and noticed 0.7l per hr on the dash, 0.9l per hr on the ODB.. So I had a call with China and showed them this, I then asked which Gallon they are considering in the calculation, they seemed a little surprised to hear there is two versions of a Gallon. The UK version being swollen my 20% over the clearly calculated US version. So then our brains all start reverse calculating a 20% larger gallon throwing the maths out..

Anyway, in short the CEO and chief software engineer are aware now. I've said this is a big one and they need to pickup the option change when we do our unit set..US or UK Imperial and get it into future firmware pronto!. Let you know when it's done.. you're welcome

Thanks for all of your efforts and support to the community on this fella. :cool:

This is on the new board, how are you finding the wireless CarPlay and android auto?
Most are on the board before this, so we are a few days off getting a very similar fw version to this. Have you got the T6 and colour selection top and bottom yet? If you haven't then that's coming to you in the next fw in the next few days too.

Have to say that I only take notice the fuel gage and the cost at the pump. Actual fuel consumption at any one time would be a distraction and not very relevant and average fuel consumption when I have looked at the end of a journey does not appear accurate or to change with a different driving style. It is what it is and these days I do not even bother to take readings for comparisons.

The main interest to me is not running out of fuel or any other necessary liquid and preferably not running the tank too low. I prefare to top up fuel towards the end of a journey when I can to help prevent condensation in the tank building up and to take active control of having good initial range. There is a sparsity of fuel stations in the countryside so range stress is always in the back of ones mind. I also like to have a near as full tank when parked up at home, in case of emergency. I do take some notice of information on Google Maps as to availability of fuel and to 24 hour availability near here or along or near to popular routes of ours. Though some garages may have advised about 24 hour availability they often fail to report speedily when the service relinquishes. Of course costs are of an interest to me. I will use supermarkets though these days they may not be the cheapest or the cheapest once they have eliminated the opposition. Then they tend to offer much higher costs, the important thing to me is garages with large turn overs. This is because I feel and have found the least problems with fuel contamination. Garages that store fuel in half empty tanks for long period are bound to have water contamination. I fund this many years ago. Perhaps things have changed but some how I doubt it. I have never experienced over very many any problems with supermarket fuel ever or large high output forecourts. Perhaps their is a cost saving over time with observing some of these things.

What's the difference between these board versions? I'm considering buying one at some point.

Oh, so there's been a h/w change then. Not used it direct with the dash. I have a Halo 11, and use

Not tried it. I have a Halo 11, I wondered if I'd get direction on the dash, like you did with the MFD, but no.

The Nav section on the dash just reports 'Navigation without signal'

I tried to Bluetooth pair my phone but couldn't get it to join up. I may try again later.

I want to check the Direct TPMS but. The units don't seem to display correctly, but busy with other things.

I get directions on mine like the old MFD but only using the head unit nav, not carplay nav.

No T6 on the menu, just Caddy and other VW cars. Not bothered with colours yet!

Some more interesting stuff on the new board..... If you're the honorary Application Engineer talking to the Chinese... Is there a bug track, Jira or Git repo for this?...

I get an option for US/Imperial gallons, I saw some previous discussion on MPG. Not checked what it's actually reporting though. Does the older version not have this;

Can't pair Bluetooth. When you click on search, nothing happens. It doesn't highlight or anything and nothing is discoverable on my phone;

I have retrofit direct TPMS. Options for units;

Bar works;

So does KPA;

But not PSI. No idea what these units are;

Tyres here are at 3.2bar, so should be 46 odd PSI.

I think this menu is the standard indirect TPMS, but again I can't press/highlight any of the options.

Apart from these niggles, I think it's awesome and I'm very pleased.

4th attempt at fitting a matt screen protector without bubbles.

On another note my AUX heater language is now German. I’m wondering if it’s got changed from messing with settings. Hopefully I can change it with VCDS
