Aftermarket Digital Instrument Cluster

I don't really like screen protectors, and applying film like that is always stressful for me. I guess it could be possible to add a non sticky version? I guess that might move or buckle under the heat. I did use a iPhone protector once that was added by applying liquid and squeegying it out.

4th attempt at fitting a matt screen protector without bubbles.

On another note my AUX heater language is now German. I’m wondering if it’s got changed from messing with settings. Hopefully I can change it with VCDS

The more I see these with the screen protector on it, the more I like it! May have to give it a go.

In relation to the other note... have a look at the "mobile" menu on the dash with your phone disconnected (might not be an issue if not got the stock head unit)
It also follows the original cluster language. Please let me know if you find that setting in VCDS, it's annoying me way more than it should but then again, I've not had the speed limit "bong" yet (I've done it now haven't I!)

I don’t have a problem with the reflectance - each to their own.

My problem with screen protectors is that they’re designed for glass. Glass doesn’t off-gas like plastic can.

I did a job in 2004 for a big American film company that involved shipping polycarbonate plates with graphics attached to NY from the UK. By the time they reached NY by ship (yes in the middle of the container stack), there were thousands of small bubbles between the PC and the graphic. I’m reliably told this is because certain plastics are still curing and emit tiny amounts of gas.

Glass doesn’t need to off-gas.

Hopefully this isn’t an issue with this type of plastic.

There goes that idea. Just imagine trying to cleanup the adhesive off the poly carbonate!

I’m not saying don’t try - I’m saying why I refrain from doing it. Most of the screen protectors come with an adhesive that’s like a post-it note - sticks til you want it gone then it comes away with the protector.

I just quite liked the look, also have now done about 600 miles in various conditions/ lights and can't say I have had any issues with reflections.

The thought of having to remove adhesive from plastic if it ever need replacing though.... That just fills me with dread.
