Anyone added a caravan to their T6?

Yes we have a breakfast bar, 2 bunks and a seating for tv watching for all 4 of us actually facing the tv

We towed a Swift challenger 1500kg for years with our T5. It is a brilliant tow vehicle, specifically all the air that is moved out the way by a 2m tall van, really good stable towing at higher speeds as well. Moved to an Autotrail Motor Home, which has its advantages, but its a pita not having an un hooked van when you arrive at your destination.

Not at all @mhill , we have never had one single problem getting on anywhere ,
only people admiring our out fit as you don't see single axle premium s that often towed by the lovely t6

I was led to believe they have to be fitted on by law (needed or not) however this may be when a car? Had the same when we had a Disco 3, had mirrors on but always looked in the car mirrors

On the question around mirror extenders I guess it will come down to the width of the caravan. Our Pegasus is 7foot 4inch wide and the t6 is pretty much the same width from outer edge of mirrors to the other .
So to comply with the regs we need to fit mirrors. You do find some drivers like to hide in your blind spot or mis judge how long you really are.

I am sure @Thogg may be able to give a more definitive answer but I expect most will need the extra mirrors.

In truth that is their problem if they are overtaking, as long as you give notice of your intensions they should stay out of the way. Only places you really need them is when you join on a slip road. I may well use them when I pick the new van up to take down to Builth but will adjust them further in.

I used mirror extenders, that clip between the mirror glass and surround. I much preferred towing with them on, particularly on motorways, when I would often be overtaking lorries and other caravans not be towed by VW vans:D:D
