Anyone added a caravan to their T6?

Out in our T5 with the caravan,T6 is having a test at home.
You can not beat towing with the van and as already stated in other posts very versatile, love being able to put the kettle on when we come back from a walk with the dog.

Owned caravans for 10 years had several from 6 to 2 berth, got the T6 in May, took both to France for 2 weeks as we had 3 children staying with us. Loved the flexibility of having both and will probably take both in our long holidays. We are constantly reviewing how much stuff we take with us and paring it down. Our caravan is 15 years old and is not worth much but is n really good condition so we have the best of both worlds but I love the compactness of the camper.

Dragging up an old thread sine I will be picking up our first caravan in a few weeks (Adria DK Severn). It’s standard 7.5ft width, am I likely to need towing mirrors for the T6?

I’ve got a Missouri which is 8ft wide, which I towed at first without extensions, then I got advised to try a set and I wouldn’t tow without them now. The extra visibility down the side of the wobble box is worth it all day long.

@Insert Coin The 8ft caravans are lovely, and I would agree need towing mirrors, I think the standard width would be ok but also the extra visibility would be a bonus. What mirrors do you have and how well do they fit please?

I tow a caravan and would definitely recommend mirrors. Got a feeling it might be a legal requirement, but not sure tbh. More importantly they are a must have in my humble opinion ;)

Yeah we like the extra width, but to be honest I don’t enjoy towing it on Dorset roads, had a couple of very near misses with big wagons coming the other way with a ‘f*** you’ attitude.

These fit the T6 mirrors perfectly, once adjusted you can whip them on/off in just a few seconds, they’ll also clip to the top or bottom of your wing mirror -

Bugger sleeping in a van. I do 'sort of' miss our caravaning days.

We left caravanning a couple of years ago but with the recent situation I don’t think we will we holidaying abroad for a few years

Hi John, haven’t changed yet but I will be going for the comfort coil overs from Steve @CRS Performance once some of the heat has gone out my wallet
Just as long that you apply the forum rules, that when discussing anything Vw financially related in front of Mrs Eli1264, you deduct 50% from the price.
Even then, Ann will probably say you are spending too much!!
