Anyone added a caravan to their T6?

You legally have to be able to see behind you and the full length of each side of the caravan. It's worded in a way that implies you need to use mirrors on most vehicles. A jobs worth of a police person could argue a t6 doesn't offer the view, in which case you'd need to prove otherwise.
For those with caravan insurance it also maybe in the T's and C's that mirrors used or insurance is invalid.
Some of you know I used to work for a mobile bar company. All tow vehicles had to have mirrors fitted even when we towed with Transits, Traffics and LDV vans.
Failure to comply is possible 3 points and up to £1000 fine.

Hi , also towing with our transporter. still waiting for our towbar fitting on the new t6 . twin axle swift 636 , previous t5 & t5.1 were both brilliant tow vehicles.
Used to think we didn't need mirror extenders , but towing on autobans in Germany found them to be needed for a looonnnng look back before pulling out into next lane .
We have struggled getting onto sites in Holland before , but only due to the twin axle caravan , did get on after conversation ... " lucky for you you do not have a gypsy van too " ..........

A brilliant tow-vehicle imo :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Not that impressed with mine, I only tow on occasion and thought the fuel consumption worse than my Vitara and it drinks blue while towing. I also only tow it more or less empty as it was only going to the site I keep it. I did find that I did not need mirror extensions and at least the caravan did not seem that heavy to pull I comparison to useing a car just miffs me how it guzzles blue.

Mine too went through blue like nobody's business. Still the conviniance of packing and it tows better than most cars, so winner for me. Definitely will get it remapped for that little more torque and power that mine does lack being the 102.

It's just the job having a campervan to tow the wobble box, leave the caravan on site and if you wonder to far, have a sneaky night in the camper.
Or if you fall out with the other half you can stay in the other pad.
Or if you have to much to drink you can crash in the other pad.
The options are endless

Thats a swift basecamp John?
Love to hear your opinion of it...
Yes it is Snowdrop. We have no complaints. It's easy to tow and store has everything in it you could wish for and the weird thing is it feels larger on the inside than it looks on the outside? We like the plain no frippery interior as in you do not need to get too precious about a dog mucking it up, just mop it out afterwards. The standard awning is quite large and doubles the space but can be a pain to put up until you are used to it. Not worth putting up unless you plan on staying for more than a couple of nights.
A lot of people end up getting a smaller one because of that.

I've worked on several of the Basecamps, and must say, i'm impressed.
The quality is as you'd expect, but it's the room inside that's noticeable. I'm not a huge fan of Swift products, but they have got this one spot on for a micro-caravan

Well it looks great and I’ve seen them at the shows , do you get any aggro at M and Cc sites with the door being at the back?
Team white rules btw

I agree regarding build quality but they all seem to be a little lightweight these days. As for the motorhome and caravan club sites, I have heard that one or two have been awkward about the awning on the beck extending too far but the "other" club seems more understanding. We ourselves have had no issue though as we usually stay elsewhere. As they get more common I think the issue will resolve itself. Nice team white by the way! Our's is just a standard ish Kombi.
