Hi. In case anyone is interested I’ve just changed mine to a leather one from Retro Retrims today. They kindly matched the stitching to my Wheat coloured interior.
I found that splitting the holder was easier using a tapered drift and gently tapping it into the round pin hole, first one side then the other and it just popped apart. I drilled a hole through both pieces and using a small section of threaded rod and a nice rounded nut, fastened the two together again over the new strap. If it ever needs changing again no ungluing to do! Hope this is helpful.
