Are EVs the way forward?

Sorry, hadn’t realised only some people are allowed opinions.

You could always edit my posts, again, so they suit your needs.

From someone that openly admitted to goading for the sake of debate to now decide debate is to be stifled…
Try debating the subject at hand rather than trying to discredit others by introducing red herrings.

@Bav @Lubrown i wish you chaps wouldn't start with the petty squabbling/insults.
i appreciate it's the internet and it comes with the territory but it ruins the thread/debate. you're both very good at arguing your cases and putting over your point of view but this type of thing just belittles your previous posts...

Too many religious preachers for me....I 'm out.
And that's the thing. Because I think EVs are the future and have one myself folk think I'm all into it, an evangelist.

I'm not.

I just can see that more than a million of them are already on our roads, and as there is no viable, commercially available, large scale alternative to replace fissil fuels in cars. then the probably are the way forward whether I like it or not.

I don't have an especial downer on dino fuel although I believe we as a society use to much of it, to the detriment of our health and finances, but that's another matter.

Amen........couldn't help myself

Are they the future? Who knows, but they are here now and seem to be becoming more popular.
How many people have actually driven one or have real world experience? It’s easy to pick fault. I agree savage depreciation on some models and questions over insurance prices might put people off.
I have a Polestar 2 for my daily drive and I absolutely love it!

One of the neighbours was being ‘forced’ to an EV as a company car. She wasn’t a fan of EVs at all and was dreading it.
Now she’s got one she’s well impressed and can’t see why everyone hates them :D

So me and my business partner both wanted new vans he went with the buzz cargo I’m not a fan of electric so went with the 6.1 sportline
We both occasionally drive each others vans this wkend he’s took mine and I’m with the buzz. To be fair it’s a nice easy drive and can see why people would buy them if they were doing short journeys. Don’t get me wrong I’m a petrol head and would still prefer my choice all day long but can see why they appeal to some people. Haven’t a clue on longevity etc but can see some peoples opinions on cheaper to replace batteries than blown engines etc.
I think there is a place for them and all down to people’s preferences and needs

Sorry dad. Me and @Lubrown have a love/hate relationship - he loves to wind me up and I hate him.

Thankfully the people making decisions are a bit more stable minded than your typical right wing journalists and their followers.
Jackpot.
Whilst chomping my way through this thread I genuinely wondered how long it would be before someone laballed those who don't agree with the current pedalled political stance as 'Right Wing'
It's a great way to attempt to cancel opposing opinion.
Hilarious and soooo predictable.

Yeah, when I last took the van to the garage I stuck the bike in the back and cycled home - I was ritually alongside the same car for the entire seven miles. They’d dash off at the lights to the next queue, I’d pass them and it was like this the entire journey (well, we parted ways at six miles but it surprised me that even my leisurely pace was a quick as a car trying their best to drive fast).
Last time I took the van to the garage I walked home along the canal, then detoured over the moors because it was such a nice day. They rang me to tell me the van was ready and I was still 4 miles from home on the top of the moors. Had to walk right past my house, get on the bus and just complete the circular route back to the garage.

Jackpot.

If the hat fits…

I doubt any right wing folk would even argue.

There is plenty of stuff that exposes the links, plenty.
Oddly, not so much with left leaning politics.

Here’s just one link

Thing is, it's a hat that only exists in the minds of people who can't tolerate an alternative opinion.

Anyway, I'm out of this vitriol. I'm too busy trying to read an upside down picture of a telly that's for sale elsewhere on here:D
