We have got to buy a mattress top for the rocknroll in our new T6 van. It seems like a minefield.
What who you recommend?:
- Dorma Full Forever (Dunelm)
- Duvalay
- Slothie
Are the higher prices of the latter two worth it and if so they seem to have standard and premium versions, which to go for??
Any comments/recommendations ?
Or perhaps you would suggest something else?

I've been through this quite a lot recently. I've got a self inflating mattress for on top of the R&R and while you can get it right it just annoys me.

I can't comment on which to buy but from my research I've decided to go for the cooling topper from duvalay. Ordered like 2 days ago.

Couple of reasons, while comfort is subjective I've not really read any complaints about it and I personally just kind if feel in this instance the fact it will be the the part of the van you spend the most amount of time on, you get what you pay for. Higher price doesn't always mean better product but I feel for mattress' it kind if does.

Useless post I know :)

Go with your gut...or back.

We,ve just purchased an Outdoor Revolution Camp Star Rock ‘n’ Roll 100 self inflating mattress for ours. Seems to work really well and you can squeeze it into a single quilt cover too.

I don't have anything to compare it against apart from 3 nights of agony without it laying on our R&R bed, we went for the Duvalay Freshtec cooling topper as we’re both quite hot sleepers. As mentioned in another thread we’re very pleased with it - expensive but worth it for a pain free night’s sleep.

We went with this Duvalay compact on our RIB in T6.1.
Pretty good all round to be honest.

This is what we went for for our 112 RnR bed. Designed for a RIB but works perfectly on our RnR, complete with the cutty outy corner.
Really comfortable, £147 when we bought it over a year ago.
Folds into 3 and slips nicely over the back seats when driving, you can't see out of the back windows, but hey, it's a van!
When pitched up we leave the bed permanently set up, ready to go!
All necessary gear in the van is decanted into whatever awning we take with us.

Double fitted sheet over the mattress and a decent double sleeping bag on top, sometimes a blanket over that if her indoors is feeling the cold.
She shouldn't 'cos the diesel heater is on trickle 17 degrees overnight!
I'll have a trawl for some pics when I get to work!

+1 Duvalay. Went with the comfort as I thought needed to stack the deck to get the good lady wife to embrace van sleeps.

I have to say, I often have MUCH better sleeps in the van (quantified by garmin body battery) versus in the house, even better if it’s me solo when doing running events etc. often wake up to a 100% body battery compared to not even half that oftentimes in the house, must be the soothing sounds of the rain etc;)

We have some thermarest folding pillow jobbies and blankets/ sleeping bags depending on the time of year, although all always lives in boot and CAN still see out the rear window when driving

Mr Massive,

Just about the only photos I have of the bed set up!
Usually a fitted sheet over the mattress, sleeping bag or duvet on top of that, with a blanky on top for good measure!
I won't show Sarah this post! Not her best angle!

What ones or options did you go with?

Looks like there is loads to choose from .

Having read about several options here and on other groups I've just bought a Panda topper for our RIB bed. Way too soft considering how hard the RIB is. I've ordered a very firm piece of foam to go underneath which I'm hoping will help.
