Thanks for the replies, @Martinf do you think you need a trickle charger for the vehicle battery if your stationary for several days...? even though i thought it was meant to be completely seperate from the leisure battery circuit there must be some current draw or battery depletion taking place.
 
@JasonW whilst the lithium leisure system works well, I do seem to need to try to install a vehicle charge system (‘Battery Master’ has been suggested on another thread). When camping the vehicle systems will often be active, with all the door opening and closing. However I do suspect there may be some interference from the leisure system (vehicle monitoring uses a CTEK battery monitor)
 
@Martinf, in regards to the starter battery drain, it sounds like the charger ignition is on a live + circuit which is causing the charger to activate and drain the starter.

You could reroute the feed to an ignition live when the car is started and running, say the small fuse panels in the middle of the fuse board. it will only activate the charger when the engine is running or in accessory mode.
