Best tailgate bike rack - bang for buck

I'm planning to buy a bike rack for my edition. It'll have to fit on the tailgate (no towbar) and I only need to carry one mountain bike.
The rack needs to be sturdy, secure (bike may be locked to it overnight so ideally rack cant be removed without opening the tailgate) and easy to remove as it'll be removed when not carrying a bike.
Whats the advantage of the Fiamma T6 pro over the VW one? How easy are they to fit and remove?

Did you reach a decision on this - if so please could you tell which one and why? Thanks

I’ve just got the genuine VW one. Brilliant. And I think it looks pretty smart too.

I’ve had it loaded up with 4 bikes and it’s rock solid.

Two security bolts to remove near the lights and it unhooks at the top of the tailgate.

I plan to leave it on most of the time as it’s quite big to store.

I got 37mpg loaded up with 4 people, 4 bikes and going through country lanes 30-60mph.

I'm also considering the Fiamma Pro, the VW one is too big and bulky for me as it would never have more than two bikes on it, usually one. Sadly no bike rack presents any problem to a thief now, if it's not attended, since they all carry cordless grinders :( I intend to carry the front wheel and EMTB battery in the van to try and make the theft less attractive.

I'm still undecided Bluey...
Why is it more difficult to make decisions on what to buy for your beloved T6 than it is to BUY A HOUSE!!! Yes that's me .... the Mrs decides on the house and I decide on my T6! Let us know any other racks on your shortlist AND where you will buy from? @andys @Zagora. - I only need 2 bikes max!

We have a Fiamma rack (version for barn doors) Pleased with it and works well. Ours holds two bikes. It can be removed but I think it is designed to remain in situ. Regular removal would soon become a pain. Ours has never been removed. It's rattle free and we forget its there! Securing the bikes takes minutes.

@DBUK do you have to lift it slightly when opening the door? Does it drag over the bumper at all? Just curious.

No it clears the bumper. They supply a clear protective sticker to sit under the rubber foot incase it touches but so far it hasnt done so. The rubber foot is adjustable so I guess you can have it sitting on the bumper for a heavier load support. Again, have never had to.

I could probably leave it on if I got one, just have to check if it would fit in garage. I have 42cm clearance lengthwise at the moment

Wow that is less than my 94mm and pee myself evertime I reverse in .... with the wing mirrirs folded I have 12mm either side! On the height - less than 5mm so I check the tyre pressure and pray!

It is all a bit scary - now where is summer!

42 CM ;)
Yes I have the same side clearance but height isn't an issue for me due to the ride height.

I tried a folding MTB but the frame was just too small. Gone over to emtb now anyway and it will fit in, but with no room to move. Think it'll have to come inside at night though, so I can't decide if it's worth buying a rack

The other thing that's just occurred to me is that as I have a dodgy hand one side and a dodgy elbow the other, I'm not sure I could lift the damn thing that high! Id certainly need to take the battery off, but that's probably a good idea anyway

Yeah it's not too shabby. My thought was to share the weight of 2 or 3 bikes between the tip of the door and the bumper... Dunno if that's relevant but the bottom rubber does touch when it's loaded.
