Bonnet Wrap Recommendations

Just had a google of the 3m ventureshield quite interested in having it applied to the bonnet. Will have a look to see if I can find anyone in the Notts / derby area who can do it and get a quote

Give Reep Midlands a shout, just south of Leicester (Wigston). They did my bonnet in 3m, wrapped fully under and over with no lines to be seen.

What type of wrap will clean well. I don't go over 70mph but get loads of bug splatter on bonnet, just above front windscreen and the bit between top and bottom grilles

Found a place local who do paint protection film (ppf) so going to get a quote for the lower front bumper and bonnet to be done just before autumn / winter sets in

This has possibly been asked before,

Are the really necessary, do any of you without them have excessive stone chips, some cars/vans attract more due to their shape is the T6 one of these?

I would prefer not to have one but if its really going to pepper my bonnet without one I will invest.

Thanks in advance

Simple answer is Yes and No.
I do a lot of miles, and Yes they get battered in stone chips. I've already had my bonnet painted once because of this, and now I just give up.
No, I don't use a bonnet Bra anymore. I did, and it worked perfectly, but they look ugly in my opinion.

If it was me, and I started again, i'd definitely have my bonnet clear wrapped. The problem is, you cannot wrap a freshly painted panel because it reacts, (something to do with the chemicals that take weeks to fully cure, and yes I learnt that the hard way) so I wasn't able to wrap mine after having it painted, and by the time I actually could, it had already picked up stone chips. Where as if i'd of had it done when my van was new, the paint would of already had the time to properly cure from manufacture.

Thanks Tourershine,

Thanks for your answer. its what I had thought. hate the thought of the bonnet bra!! so what about the clear 3m's stuff you can have applied also appreciate your comments re cure time.

Breeze I think Tourershine is talking about the clear 3M stuff.

Out of pure curiosity, what's with the whole Moose theme @Moose?

Edit: Ignore that, good old Instagram:cool: It's a clothing line.

Does the wrap provide adequate chip protection?
The printed wrap will provide a reasonable amount of protection but the specific films are much better as they are thicker and softer so they provide a cushion effect to anything hitting it. Best to get a vehicle wrap company to apply it as it can be tricky but when done well looks like there's nothing there. Great for door sills and back bumper as stops scratches. Good luck
