The online systems aren't set up to deal with campervans. I'm afraid you need to ring round specialist insurers to try and get your quotes. Yes, it's ball-ache, but unfortunately necessary.I'm in the middle of a purchase brand new T6.1 DSG / LWB - Fully converted - but the companies will not quote me online.....
I was looking at the T7 fully converted, but apparently I've got the last T6.1's being made Jan 2025 because the T7 are ford / rebadged with VW made in Turkey so I've been told...The online systems aren't set up to deal with campervans. Yeh, lots of related discussion about the Transitporter.I was looking at the T7 fully converted, but apparently I've got the last T6.1's being made Jan 2025 because the T7 are ford / rebadged with VW made in Turkey so I've been told...
The T7 is the Multivan family, very much made by VW in the old factory at Hanover.I was looking at the T7 fully converted, but apparently I've got the last T6.1's being made Jan 2025 because the T7 are ford / rebadged with VW made in Turkey so I've been told...
What I find more frustrating is that LV offer this type of insurance, but I can't add the van to my existing LV Multi-car policy! You expect a bit of variation, but how an insurer can justify quoting you almost double that quoted by another reputable broker simply defies logic.
Premium differences reflect a myriad of criteria, each of which are unique to an individual insurer at any given moment in time. You expect a bit of variation, but how an insurer can justify quoting you almost double that quoted by another reputable broker simply defies logic.
Comfort were double for me a couple of years ago as well compared to AFYou expect a bit of variation, but how an insurer can justify quoting you almost double that quoted by another reputable broker simply defies logic.
I think we'll agree to disagree. Over the years I've encountered evidence that an element of the premium is not based upon risk, but upon a customers financial profile and this their perceived willingness and ability to pay a higher sum.Premium differences reflect a myriad of criteria, each of which are unique to an individual insurer at any given moment in time.
You may not like it, but it is entirely logical.
Correct - more so than you even suspect - but it doesn't defy logic; it simply defies simplistic explanation due to the complexity of the algorithms being applied; the vast amount of public domain and commercial/trading data (be that live, near-live or historic) that's being analysed and acted upon; and the different objectives and strategies being employed by each insurer....the logic extends beyond the obvious simple risk and commercial profiles into a financial profile for each individual customer they'd rather we didn't know about.
I'm not so sure..... my partner renewed our van insurance today and it was about £40 cheaper than last year with the same terms and conditions.I've never known anything positive come of an insurance thread on a forum, you may as well delete them as soon as they are created.
