Basically you take the button out and connect the connector to this little cable and then back to the factory loom. Getting the button out is going to be the hardest bit, I have a T6 comfort dash and didn't struggle but I'm also pretty confident with DIY tinkering.
I had a Ghost Immobiliser fitted to my Golf R a few weeks ago and happened to mention to the installer that I would like to disable the stop/start.
"I can do that with the Ghost" he said.
It works the same as the cable I believe, in that it remembers the last setting (OFF obviously)
Just thought I'd mention this in case anyone is having a Ghost fitted and also hates the stop/start, saves having to buy a separate eBay cable.

Got a lead from Ebay and literally took 2 minutes (Just make sure the lead going into the van doesn't try and disappear into the depths of the dash. Mine tried, but caught it in time) - and I hate doing this sort of thing to an expensive van. Works nicely. Stop/Start now is automatically disabled but I can turn it on if need be.
One less thing to do.
There is a 6pin version and 10pin. The 10pin is if you have rear parking cam etc.
