Coming Home Lights

Hi all . Soon be a new year ,where did the time go my van still isn't finish !

Any one got ant closer to the coming home function working automatically at night without having to flash the main beam ?.

May be one for the new year .

Mine does the fog lights instead of the main beam, it is just a case of altering the option of a 0 for a 1 (or the other way around) in the appropriate byte and bit using VCDS. It may also be possible with Carista.

Happy new year @DaveyB I do intend to change from main lights to fogs , but do you still need to pull back on the light stalk ? , does the main beam flash as well as the fogs or when you pull the stalk back just the fogs ?
Still hopping there would be no need to pull the stalk back and just the removal of the key at night would activate the coming home function.

Was fiddling with Carista today to clear an airbag fault (unplugged the key switch for the passenger airbag and turned on ignition) and noticed there is an option now to turned off the drl when indicating. Don't remember seeing this when I used it 18 months ago.

there is a wink option which switches the DRL off for the side which is indicating.

I have seen other vehicles that have that, I don’t think I like it - it looks odd

Does draw your attention to the indicator though if a vehicle has bright DRLs

Happy New Year to you also @Stampie66. The coming home function requires no tugging on any stalk .
Remove the key from the ignition during the hours of darkness and the lights turn on. Unlock the van and the same occurs when you are returning to it. (At least that is what happens on my highline).

Are you sure ? I have to flash main beam before getting out to leave the headlights on for 30 secs while walking away

Mine is auto with auto headlights left in auto position.

Mine is also on auto and I still have to flash mine to activate the feature.

So every time you get out of the van in the dark your headlights stay on ?
If that's the case we should be able to find the difference between codings on similar vehicles

My fog lights stay on when I get out of the van. I don’t flash anything. It used to be the headlights, but I recoded it to the fogs cos I think it looks better.
You should have a scan of my van in your archive somewhere.

Yes mine come on when I unlock or lock when its dark. I also ticked the bit that swapped headlights for fog lights.

Yes it works for me, but only when the headlights are off.

Works for me too, only with the lights off so just on DRLs

does anyone know if this is possible with VCDS ?? I always thought the indicators aren't bright enough with the LED DRL's ??
