Copart special just landed

Thanks for that, it was sold as no chassis damage and I’ve driven it round briefly and everything seems to be fine. No airbags were deployed and the damage seems to stop at the rad but as I said earlier I am way out of my depth here so could be totally wrong in hoping that it’s just superficial
Cheers for the advice so far it’s much appreciated

To be honest, comments like this scare the carp out of me.

This is a vehicle weighing several tonnes potentially on the public highway built/repaired by someone who acknowledges they haven't a clue what they're doing.

I also have some loved ones who I would dearly hope never cross the path of this vehicle.

For the sake of public safety, please get someone who knows what they're doing to at least help you or preferably do the repairs for you...

I should have been clearer, I have no intentions of carrying out any of the work myself. I know my limits and this is way above them, I’m trying to gauge the damage and order some of the parts in preparation for the mechanic, hes a grumpy bugger and it’ll be a struggle just to get him here but if I already have some of the parts ready for him he should be able to make a start

Thank you so much for making that clear! And apologies for my assumption that you were intending to carry out the work yourself!

Also, congratulations on knowing your limits and not hesitating to put your hand up for help!!! (There's so many people who don't do 1 or both of those things!)

All the best and dying to see the finished article!

Thanks very much, my dad was a mechanic and he knows exactly who utterly clueless I am with the spanners so it’s already a family joke that the van will be worth less than I paid for it by the time I’ve finished with it. Was hoping for a bit more support but Thats dads for you ;)

Put a new headlight in. Most people throw those away as they can’t sell them so there’s bound to be plenty around.
I’ve got a pair in the fire place in the front room. If it’s a work van then I’d be leaving the top of the grill with the crack until one pops up cheap on here. Plenty of people upgrade to gloss black so they pop up every now and then.

Got a headlight on the way, was cheap enough from eBay. I’m afraid keeping any of the grill/ bumper isn’t an option as it’s in a fair old state.
The bumper crash bar seems fine but does have a small dent so I’ll replace that along with the impact support bumper (?) whilst everything is off

It’s a startline. So bumper and grill are all one piece

There are companies that do T6.1 facelift conversions, tailgate conversions, led headlight conversions. You could probably pick up bonnet, bumper, grill, headlights, crashbar, barn doors for a good price from them.

Thanks, didn’t think of that I’m just scouring eBay at the moment to be honest
Whilst lots come up on Ebay they are often at a premium price. Most grilles etc have come up for sale on the forum for much cheaper than Ebay FYI as a watch it

Thanks for that I’m in Burnley , really appreciate it but just snagged one on eBay. Typical!
What is the small radiator called that sits in front of the big radiator? I’ve entered part number into Google and nothing comes up that looks like mine.

My caddy needs to go to the garage today for a couple of jobs so I’m going to try and get the mechanic to commit to fixing the transporter. I’ve sent him pictures and texts and he’s completely ignored the lot even though I know he’s seen them. With any normal person this would be a 1minute conversation but with him it’ll be a full hour of negotiations and by the end of it I’ll feel like I’ve been wrestling a greased up pig
