Decisions, decisions…. Daily Driver

Disabled tax is £00.00, although chopping your legs off to get free car tax is a bit extreme.

It's nice to have £00.00 tax on the T6 though.

UPDATE: Got a deposit on a BMW 128Ti

Fed up with dealing with main dealer already

Car advertised on Autotrader and BMW Approved Used website
Placed online deposit to reserve
Apparently meant to contact you to discuss next steps
No contact 24hrs
Called to enquire and to arrange test drive following day
Booked day off work and moved meetings around
Waited hours for a call back
Told car not available until next week as Sales Manager not getting his new one til then
Not able to view so cancelled annual leave
Told car definitely reserved for me and it would be removed from sale
Adverts still live 24hrs later
No contact
Emailed to enquire about reservation
Told definitely reserved
Disappeared from website 15 mins later
Booked day off again
So now waiting until Tuesday to take a 2hour train ride to see/drive it and decide.

RRP with all the spec I want was just a smidge under £40k so lower tax

What an absolute ball ache buying a car has become - whose idea was it to sell my van again?

Back to the drawing board after being messed around so much that I told them I didn’t want the car any more

My daily driver is my feet, or occasionally my bicycle if I'm going into town. The only person it impresses is my wallet.

Go on test drive a jcw clubman if you enjoyed your previous mini and your transporter sounds like you like cars that have a bit of character

Buy an old classic. You do need a garage, but cheap ins and no tax or MOT
I have a mk1 golf gti i run about in on dry days.
This.

I’ve got Porsche Boxster 986 that I bought just last winter to have as a summer toy, it’s hard to describe just how rewarding a car it is to drive.
Not a proper classic (yet) but it’s a good mix of old school driving (hydraulic power steering) and modern safety (airbags, abs). Cost me £3800 (97 with 89k on the clock), £250 year classic car insurance and £40 a month tax.

You’ve got the Toyota then for the winter months.

I wanted a Boxster but couldn't fit in with the roof up and struggled to drive it with rhe door closed (im a bit of a unit, tall and wide.) Shame, because they looked like superb budget fun.

In the end the C70 turned out to be the only 'sporty' ragtop I could fit in, so I placed my order and two decades and a remap later still own it.

Still only 40k miles. I may actually sell it next year as we prepare for Mrs Sasquatch's retirement.

They came back with a goodwill gesture of another £250 off the car so back on again
