So, with a view to painting my Siku to match the van I took mine apart and broke the plastic inside so it will have to be glued back together.
Having now got it apart I’ve worked out how to get it apart. Basically drill a 1mm hole in the chassis/base plate about 5mm in from the front grill (see second pic). Then using the 1mm drill, push in the hole till it stops. Then push a little bit more and lever at the same time. Basically the tiny front grill has a barb on it and holds the whole assembly together.
