Double-Seat Hinge - feedback?

Hi. Just got my Shuttle and the Mrs complained within minutes reguarding the upright duel front seat. Mine Doesnt fold flat and that’s no problem so just need the recliner option. What do I need to do that please.

Yeah. Mrs Donkey hates my bench seat. She folds it flat and uses it as footstool while sitting on the seat behind. Much more comfortable. I'm aware of the hinge mod, but wonder of its as simple as a piece of drilled flat bar under the front of the seat base. It's only 4 holes drilled in it to take the floor studs. Looks like enough thread there to allow the whole seat unit to tilt back a few degrees.

Modified original ? Can’t see it requiring much modding then. Chuffing expensive too
Need a plan B

Get the eBay hinge like I have ordered. It will allow the seat to fold and give you the extra angle on the back rest.

I've never taken mine out to have a look but wonder if it's just filing down a stop or drilling a bigger diameter hole to allow a catch pin to sit further round than the standard design.

I bought the folding bracket from the same ebay seller and fitted it a couple of weeks ago, according to the wife the seat is now much more comfortable... so we're both happy. Result!

I’m no expert in safety but isn’t the middle seat belt, nearest the driver secured to the seat itself? If so all the force in a crash will be sent to the seat hinges and stays. any cutting, drilling or grinding will surely add to the chances of the seat simply folding forward with the passenger still in the belt.

The bracket is M1 tested and is a direct replacement for the bracket currently fitted to the seat. No cutting, drilling or grinding necessary.

Sorry i was commenting to DieselDonkey. I saw a bracket at the Camper show in Telford being sold by a Scottish chap...a really robust well made piece of kit.
Let us know how it was to fit as id like one myself.
Cheers.

All fitted and a few pictures in my build thread. Was very easy to fit and comes with a guide anyway.

I don't know Danny. I haven't studied the standard and modified hinge to see how the variation in seat back angle is achieved. I don't know if the hinge has has material removed or not. Just curious. Maybe somebody can compare the two to find out how it's been done.
